Two prosecutors leave Mueller's office

Source: CNN

Updated 6:50 AM ET, Fri August 31, 2018

Washington (CNN) - Prosecutors Ryan Dickey and Brian Richardson are no longer working for the office of special counsel Robert Mueller, the Justice Department confirmed.

Both lawyers were relatively junior but frequently spotted members of Mueller's corps. Both have worked on court cases that Mueller opened as part of his investigation into Russian interference and coordination with the Trump campaign in the 2016 presidential election.

Peter Carr, a spokesman for the special counsel, declined to explain on Thursday what the departures mean for the state of Mueller's office.

Over this summer, as Mueller opened more criminal cases, other Justice Department units including the US Attorney's Office in Washington and the National Security Division have begun to work on the court action, wedging the cases deeper into the Justice Department's portfolio.

Two Lawyers Have Quit Robert Mueller’s Office

Two prosecutors have left special counsel Robert Mueller’s office for unexplained reasons. The Justice Department confirmed to CNN that Ryan Dickey and Brian Richardson—relatively junior members of Mueller’s team—are no longer working for the special counsel’s office. Both have reportedly been working on cases that Mueller opened as part of his investigation into Russian interference and alleged coordination with the Trump campaign in the 2016 presidential election. Peter Carr, a spokesman for the special counsel, declined to explain why they left—but said that neither quit due to political allegations, bias, or any other wrongdoing. The special counsel’s office now has 15 lawyers at work under Mueller.

Trump will say the moon is made of cheese if he thinks the American people are gullible enough to believe him. So, let him say whatever he wants, I think the newly released WaPo/ABC News Poll, more than adequately shows what the American people are thinking about Trump and his moronic administration.

actual belief not required. Loyalty for some will be affected by events in the coming months. Others won't slack their devotion, though, until the Allies land and their leader commits suicide in his bunker.

If they were caught doing something wrong and agreed to leave without a ruckus, this could part of the deal.

I've seen people deny that something happened because under the terms of the settlement they had to say that. They knew it was a lie, but to say the truth would involve all kinds of difficulties. So all agreed to the same story.

Now, this is horrible. But worse is the fact that when this kind of agreement and contractually-involved lying is known to happen, when the denial is 100% legit there's still the suspicion that it isn't. On the surface, they look and sound exactly the same. But the denial is expected both if something didn't happen as well as if something did, which tends to strip it of any truth value.

That was back in the spring, I think. Anyhow, the guy left because his area of expertise was no longer needed, as the investigation had moved on to other areas.

Not everyone quits or gets fired. Sometimes it's something else, maybe somebody's spouse got a different job and they have to move. You never know. It doesn't mean he/she left under a cloud.

You then believe the reasons for their departure, regardless of how benign or mundane, how personal or intimate, should be made public?

I would think not, as Trump habitually redefines anything which does not validate his wee biases. Advertising the reasons would not stop trump from doing so.

Were the reasons of departure both valid and intimate, then advertising them does nothing other than reveal personal and intimate details of the people who left... as it certainly won't stop trump from playing pretend with reality again.

Instead they are allowing it to just hang out there, rather than saying anything, no matter how damned generic.

AND THAT is damned damaging to these individuals.

It’s obvious why they left: they’re highly conflicted democrats who are pedofiling Benghazi children across the southern border (build the wall) with their massive democrat (sic) calves and they needed some time off to be crisis actors in an up coming Soros funded event. I’m sure Alex Jones will confirm this, if he can stop watching transgender porn long enough to put together a report.

Richardson recently became a research fellow at Columbia Law School, according to the law school's spokeswoman Nancy Goldfarb.

Dickey will continue to work on criminal matters at the Justice Department. Though he worked out of Mueller's office last year, he was always employed by the Justice Department's criminal division, specializing in computer and intellectual property crimes.
