Wildfires force evacuation of residents south of Chadron (NE)

UPDATE:Authorities told 50 households near Rushville to evacuate, and the orders were mandatory for 20 of those households.

They are in the path of the wildfire known as the Wellnitz fire, which also has come within four miles of the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

The Bureau of Indian Affairs said it is sending two fixed-wing aircraft to assist firefighters.
