Trump's top economist says he can't explain Trump's false tweet on the economy

Source: wash post

Hassett corrects Trump's false claim about the economy

September 10 at 3:21 PM

The White House’s top economist on Monday acknowledged that President Trump had made a false statement hours earlier when he used a pair of statistics to describe the strong economy.

Kevin Hassett, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, speaking in the White House press room, said he did not know how Trump obtained the false information.

"The history of thought about how errors happen is not something I can engage in, because from the initial fact to what the president said, I don't know the whole chain of command," Hassett said.

"I'm not the chairman of the council of Twitter advisers," he added later.

On Monday morning, Trump tweeted that “The GDP Rate (4.2%) is higher than the Unemployment Rate (3.9%) for the first time in over 100 years!”

The Washington Post, Fox News, Bloomberg News and several other news organizations published reports finding that the tweet was untrue. ......................................

He doesn't mix in truth, he just lies and lies and lies. If his orange assmouth or his tiny orange fingers are moving, he's always lying. If the tweet has any truth in it and doesn't sound like it's coming from a demented person, he didn't write it. If the facts matter, he lies, when facts don't matter (size of inauguration crowd) he lies, he lies about his previous lies or even outs himself that he was lying for fun - like with Trudeau. It's all about the lies and they are legion! That's talking about what he says. What he does is all about profiting himself or hurting others and he makes it a point to do both at the same time. Like giving his top 4 campaign donors no-bid contracts to kidnap, cage, torture and drug Hispanic children and paying them $700/day/child to keep them in freezing cold, overcrowded, unsafe, cages and feed them crap and drug them if they are upset or anxious. You know damn well he's getting a huge kickback for this or he wouldn't be so hyped up on this and even broke the agreement the executive branch made with the judiciary decades ago just to keep torturing the children for a longer time and keep the money scam and hurt for their families going forever.

just normal trump pulling stuff out of his ass. Economists, especially those working for trump can be expected to reach the wrong conclusions from data, but they probably would not pull data out of their asses.

Not least because those are not real economists. They're apologists for every elitist, regressive brain fart out of Wall Street and the vulture fund crowd.

They might as well just play the Twix ad with the sinister voice saying "Two for me; none for you."

From Bloomberg, by way of Yahoo Finance:
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/trump-wrongly-touts-economy-growth-141605717.html

Trump: “The GDP Rate (4.2%) is higher than the Unemployment Rate (3.9%) for the first time in over 100 years!” Trump said Monday in a posting on Twitter.

In the 70 years since the Labor Department started publishing monthly jobless numbers, the growth rate has been higher than the unemployment level more than 20 percent of the time when compared with GDP, which is reported quarterly.

The article also deals with a couple of other lies about the number of black jobs, and the stock market gains since being elected.

Note also Benedict Donald was saying the unemployment rate was 42% during the campaign https://www.democraticunderground.com/100210153676

Does he really think he brought the unemployment rate down from 42% to 3.9%?

Don't feel bad...

Every day at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HU), researchers are working to address the causes of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. Signs and symptoms can include memory loss, disorientation, and mental confusion; however, HU researchers have discovered ways to reduce the potential risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia by studying the way in which food affects brain health.
