Residents of New Mexico compound indicted on federal charges

Source: Washington Post

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Five residents of a ramshackle desert compound were indicted Tuesday on firearms and conspiracy charges. Federal prosecutors in New Mexico say the group was preparing for violent attacks on government, military, educational and financial institutions.

Jany Leveille, 35; Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, 40; Hujrah Wahhaj, 37; Subhanah Wahhaj, 35; and Lucas Morton, 40, are scheduled to appear Wednesday in federal court in Albuquerque for arraignment and detention hearings, where public defenders are expected to be appointed to represent them.

The grand jury indictment alleges they transported firearms and ammunition from Georgia to New Mexico in December 2017.

Prosecutors said the five, all members of an extended family, established a training camp and firing range in Amalia, New Mexico, where they stored firearms and ammunition and engaged in firearms and tactical training “as part of their common plan to prepare for violent attacks.”

The difference is actual targeting and planning instead of just redneck target practice. 7962 Sep 2018 #4

It is and has been, in so many cases, the equal application of the law.
There are home grown groups, most of them with a decidedly anti-government or religious extremist bent (or as in many cases, both), out there with their own shooting ranges and literally hundreds of guns that are being transported around all over the place.

So with alll them anti-government (especially against Democrats) Christian extremists out there, the only group arrested that didn’t result in a stand off and national protests about “protecting our freedoms” is a group that is black and Muslim.

Again, not about if they are guilty or not, it’s about the equal application of the law.

The All Journal reported that Grady Hospital in Atlanta was one of the locations being targeted. Along with the other information of training kids to shoot up schools.
Most of these other groups are going out target shooting and preparing for some feared showdown with the govt but not actually planning attacks. There are those that have, and we've seen them arrested as well. Just last year a white man was arrested for planning to duplicate the Oklahoma City bombing.
This is just a larger scale than what we usually see. Throw in a dead child, kidnapping & illegal gun running and theres a BIG difference from bubba & his beer bellied friends running around "training" to defend themselves.

It's possible the feds already had them on the radar and may have even set up the gun deal as a sting, but this is a good argument for national firearm registration.
