New racial controversy batters DeSantis

Source: Politico

A Republican activist who donated more than $20,000 to Ron DeSantis and lined up a speech for him at President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club called President Obama a “F---- MUSLIM N----” on Twitter recently, in addition to other inflammatory remarks.

Steven M. Alembik told POLITICO Wednesday he wrote the Obama tweet in anger, that he’s “absolutely not” a racist and that he understood that DeSantis’s campaign for governor would need to distance himself from the comments — which the campaign promptly did.

“We’ve said it before, we’ll say it again: we adamantly denounce this sort of disgusting rhetoric,” DeSantis campaign spokesman Stephen Lawson said in a written statement.

The controversy comes after DeSantis sent his campaign into a tailspin the day after the Aug. 28 primary by using the awkward phrase “monkey this up” in describing how the economy could falter under the plans of his opponent, Andrew Gillum, the Florida Democratic Party’s first African-American nominee for governor.

...not whether or not DeSantis denounces this type of racial rhetoric. The point is, why are these disgusting racists always attracted to you and Trump?

9. On Wednesday the campaign lied, claiming that it returned the racist's donation in June.

The campaign sought to distance itself Wednesday from Alembik by noting that, on June 11, the Friends of Ron DeSantis political committee returned $11,000 he had contributed earlier in the year in two installments. But $2,000 more in additional contributions from Alembik made at the start of the year were not returned.

But Alembik said he had asked for the money back because his accountant told him he issued the contributions from the wrong bank account. The balance of Alembik’s contributions to DeSantis, $11,920, have been made to DeSantis’ congressional campaigns since 2015, his gubernatorial campaign and two state political committees that have supported him.

7. Does anyone in the world believe this man isn't a total racist?

He hangs out with racist haters, gave speeches every year at an organization of white separatists, himself made a very nasty racial reference immediately upon knowing that a black man was his opponent, then claims he has no racial bias. Then why does he exhibit racial bias in so many ways? Easy - because he 100% is a racist, his supporters are racists and his friends are racists and he's trying to pretend none of this is real, but doing a very very poor job because his lies are so very obvious.

Ron DeSantis, the Trump-loving Republican candidate for governor in Florida, has found himself involved in yet another racism controversy.

Earlier on Thursday, it was reported that major DeSantis donor Steven Alembik — who gave the campaign more than $20,000 — admitted that he called former President Barack Obama a “Muslim n*gger,” although he insisted that he was not really a racist.

And now the Miami New Times reports that DeSantis’ wife Casey this week attended an event in Florida alongside Trevor Loudon, a notorious right-wing conspiracy theorist who has in the past claimed to have proof that former President Barack Obama was born in Kenya.
