It's hard to believe anything else is happening today, but GSes are at their desks.

(1,296 posts)As far as rocket-building billionaires go, we could do a whole lot worse than Elon, and probably will pretty soon.
Mr. Musk has fucked up more than once this year, but I think he's at least capable of learning from his mistakes, unlike most of the pigs who dominate our attention nowadays.

(4,035 posts)Honestly, I know nothing about the particulars of the situation, just the premise and title reads like how an authoritarian regime purges itself of those who do not conform. It sounds Putinesque.
Im certainly incorrect. Its an instinctual thing. If it looks like a fish and smalls like a fish.....

(11,257 posts)He tweeted last month that he had funding secured to take Tesla private at $420(pot reference!) Per share. This was a huge exaggeration and more likely an outright lie meant to hurt the shortsellers. I know someone who knows him and that person claims he was tripping on acid at the time and set the tweet out quite impetuously! Pure rumor, but the 420 does seem non-random and the whole thing was half baked.

Beyond simple observations, objective evidence is often requested when one implies a 'regime purge,' which rarely look like fish.

Amazing detail from WSJ: the SEC had reached a settlement with Elon Musk, was preparing to announce it last week, then Musk's team blew it up https://www.wsj.com/articles/elon-
