Missouri Senate candidate Hawley: Kavanaugh hearing a 'circus'

Hawley at a campaign event in St. Charles told reporters he had only seen snippets of the Thursday Senate hearing. But he says Democrats have “launched an ambush on a good man.”

He accused Democrats of trying to delay the nomination process until after the mid-term election in hopes of gaining control of the Senate.

Hawley also said he has no reason to doubt the sincerity of Christine Blasey Ford, who alleges sexual assault when they were teens. But Hawley says the Senate should move forward if there’s no evidence. Kavanaugh denies the allegation.

Hawley is running against Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill, who says she’ll vote against Kavanaugh.

3. So he doesn't doubt Ford's claims

but still thinks we should put the one who is accused of sexual assault and more in the Supreme Court? I hope people are calling them out on their hypocrisy. They cannot both believe Ford and be in favor of Kavanaugh. That is simply impossible. The reality is, they either don't believe her or they'd vote for him despite believing the accusations. This isn't a trial. There was no investigation, there was never the possibility of bringing forward evidence.

As for the circus, the republicans put on a sh*tshow to outperform all sh*tshows today. I am done with having any "Minnesota nice" thoughts about what the repugs did today. Talk about obstruction of justice and grandstanding! I am well past being disgusted!

5. Hawley is a hypocrite and is showing it...if someone was running against him in MO for some ...

office and had a possibly inkling of sexual abuse history in their past, Hawley would jump all over them.

And like you say Hav, putting someone on the US Supreme Court that's been accused multiple times of assault? Look at how long we had to fight to get Bill Cosby sentenced after so many women came forth, and the many other 'famous' people that are accused and then it takes years and years to actually convict?

I'm not denying the rights to a fair trial, it's just takes so long, and they spends tons of money to avoid jail, that's all they are doing, prolonging and dragging it out, and everyone knows they're guilty.

Hawley is nothing more than a disgusting mouthpiece and doesn't represent true MO values. And he's a hypocrite using one office he just got into to leapfrog into another office in under 1 year (or so), he had an ad knocking this very same behavior!
