President Donald Trump is tentatively scheduled to appear in Council Bluffs on Oct. 9, according to a report in Politico Pro.
The outlet, citing two ethanol and oil industry sources, says the president will be in town to direct the Environmental Protection Agency to expand sales of ethanol by allowing year-round sales of 15 percent ethanol-gasoline blends. It describes the plans as tentative.
The expansion of ethanol use has been a major priority for Nebraska and Iowa leaders because the two states lead the nation in ethanol production. Trump has spoken favorably about the issue, but the acting EPA chief has not acted.
Iowa also is home to several tight elections, including incumbent Republican Rep. David Young, who represents Council Bluffs, vs. Democratic challenger Cindy Axne.

(767 posts)I remember when mixing ethanol and gasoline was a good idea. Today I would not think of purchasing this mix because it is not good with fuel parts including the engine. I do not see any place selling this mixture? Maybe it is popular east of California? We have our winter and summer mixtures which may have ethanol.......CHEERS
