SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Brazil’s leftist Workers Party candidate, Fernando Haddad, would defeat far-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro in an expected runoff vote in next month’s election, a Datafolha poll showed on Friday.

In a simulated runoff vote, the poll found Haddad would get 45 percent voter support, beating Bolsonaro with 39 percent, with the rest of those asked saying they were undecided or would annul their ballot. Voting is compulsory in Brazil.

A second-round is required if no candidate wins a majority in the Oct. 7 first ballot, which is expected to happen.

Ever notice how when the U.S./British media (with some exceptions) mention Bolsonaro, they always describe him as "the front runner."

They often neglect to mention that he's the fron-runner only in the first round of voting. He has consistently come in second in most hypothetical runoffs however.

And that's despite that stunt he pulled in Juiz da Fora (look, ma! No blood!).

Thanks again, Judi.

Just wait until the Argentine electons next year! That ought to be fun.
