Election Ahead, Trump's Advisers Beg Him To Show Restraint

WASHINGTON (AP) — Please, Mr. President, just wait.

Donald Trump’s advisers have been sounding that nervous refrain in the lead-up to the midterm elections, hoping the president will hold off on a series of actions he’s been itching to take, but that could hinder Republicans on Nov. 6.

Trump has made clear he would shut down the government if necessary to win money for his long-sought wall on the Mexican border. He’s talked about getting rid of Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein or Attorney General Jeff Sessions. For months, there’s been speculation he’ll make a move against special counsel Robert Mueller.

But with 35 days to go before midterm elections that look increasingly challenging for Republicans, Trump allies are trying to hold back the president’s impulses just a little bit longer, hoping to contain his ire until Election Day.

take Sessions job. How much of an improvement would THAT be? Graham has already shown himself to be a rabid tRump follower, with his rants against the democratic members of the judicial board. He is as unqualified for that position as Kavenaugh "Get me another Beer" is for the SC.

need to take heed of Rick Wilson's book and remember that "Everything Trump Touches Dies"

Evidence of this is out there every day. Hitch your wagon to the orange pustule and you will go down.

That way, when that...THING in the White House decides to force a government shutdown over his wall, the GOP can just blame it on Democrats and try to regain power in '20 or '22. Not necessarily a rebuild, but a reload.

But one has to wonder if those crazy ducks realize they can fly...

Neither are "humility," "kindness," "empathy," "sincerity," "truth," "patriotism," "tolerance," "honesty," "fidelity," "introspection," "reading," "curiosity" and "respect."

I'm sure there's one or two I've omitted.

Donald Trump strikes me as the type who will immediately insist on doing anything he's told not to do, and do it loudly, boldly, and to excess.

I think this is just the WH pretending that no matter what anyone says, trumpft does what he wants. When in reality, repubs are supportive of any and all of trumpfts moves.

They really don't care.
