White House Finds No Support in FBI Report for Claims Against Kavanaugh
Source: WSJ
WASHINGTONThe White House has found no corroboration of the allegations of sexual misconduct against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh after examining interview reports from the FBIs latest probe into the judges background, according to people familiar with the matter.
It was unclear whether the White House, which for weeks has raised doubts about the allegations, had completed its review of the FBI interview reports. Officials were expected to be sending the FBI report to the Senate Judiciary Committee late Wednesday.
Still, the White Houses conclusions from the report are not definitive at this point in the confirmation process. Senators who will decide Mr. Kavanaughs fate are set to review the findings on Thursday, and some of them may draw different conclusions.

(8,200 posts)The people controlling the Republican Party are intent on transforming the government into a authoritarian presidency in conjunction with an cabinet of the wealthy. They have under their control a large segment of the population made up of extreme factions consisting of the wealthy, evangelicals, racists, second amendment radicals and low information voters who they have convinced that they are their champions. With the exception of the wealthy class, these groups are little more than useful idiots to be exploited.
The only weapon that the citizens have is the ballot box. The Republicans as well aware of this fact. They have even attempted to extended their campaign to restrict and control the most fundamental privilege and essential tool of a democracy by restricting the vote of minorities and younger voters and gerrymandering. The fact is that we are in a war for control of our society. A war that the liberals upon whose principles the nation was founded are losing by default.

(15,286 posts)that the WH was briefed contemporaneously on FBI findings as they finished each interview. That explains why the WH would have seemed to know "ahead of time" what was in the report.

(2,682 posts)It doesn't matter who votes, it matters who counts the votes.
In this case, it doesn't matter what the FBI report has or will say, it matters what TPTB say about the report.
As I've said from the beginning, this is all kabuki theater. A circus to placate the masses before they do what they were planning to do all along. I don't place any hope at all on the three Republican senators who have said they haven't decided. What they really mean is they are waiting to see what Dear Leader says before casting their vote. It is, after all, the Party of Trump.
Now excuse me while I go vomit......

(7,142 posts)to the poster here who I was rude to. He was absolutely right, this is now Trump's FBI. I gave way too much credit to Christopher Wray. I did not realize that Wray and Rosenstein and Kavanaugh are tight.
What is this nation becoming, putting a monster on the Supreme Court?
We Democrats damn well better vote the bastards out. I don't believe the polls that claim that young voters are disillusioned, it's a ploy to make us depressed and stay home. I repeat, vote the bastards out, our democracy, what's left of it depends on a Democratic Congress.
