Chris Coons: If I were to guess, Kavanaugh will be 'narrowly confirmed'

Source: The Hill

Delaware Sen. Chris Coons (D) says he expects Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to be "narrowly confirmed" following the FBI's supplemental investigation into his background, the results of which were shared with the Senate on Thursday.

In an interview with "Fox and Friends" Thursday morning, the Judiciary Committee member told the hosts that while he still remains personally opposed to Kavanaugh's nomination to the court, he expects Republicans to have the necessary votes for the judge's confirmation.

"I think this will be a very close vote. It hangs by a few undecided Democrats and Republicans. I haven't read this report yet, [but] if I were to just guess today, he would be narrowly confirmed," Coons told the Fox News hosts.

He added in the interview however that he remains convinced that Kavanaugh's views on presidential power, such as questions over whether a president can be under criminal investigation, were "beyond the mainstream" of acceptable judicial views.

Our Democrats have been front and center fighting this thing. There is only so much they can do.

The rest is up to us. Check your vote registration. GOTV.

How many here will have excuses for the Democratic Senators that vote for him. Me personally, if we can't count on them for these important votes, fuck 'em. I give a shit if they lose to a Republican, might as well, they're doing us no good.
Specially McCaskill, if she votes for him, she not only turned her back on Democrats, but she sided AGAINST women. There will be a special place in hell for her.

And then he'll take sole credit for the confirmation, of course.
