GOP sees new bomb scare victim: Trump

Source: MSN

A day after several leading Democrats were found to have been targeted by package bombs, Republicans have identified one of their own as a victim: President Donald Trump.

As of Thursday afternoon, less than 36 hours after the first packages were discovered, White House officials and outside advisers bitterly protested the notion that Trump’s vitriolic rhetoric might have inspired whoever sent the packages.

The alleged main offender was a familiar one — the news media, which conservatives insisted had rushed to unfair conclusions in an effort to undermine the president less than two weeks before the midterm elections. The blame-casting came a day after Trump issued an uncharacteristic call for political unity.

“Look, it’s the media’s doing what the media does, which is any narrative that they can twist against Trump, they will do so,” Sen Ted Cruz (R-Texas) told conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt.

A day after a terrorist mails pipe bombs to Trump's critics, Republicans complain about how this is all unfair to Donald Trump. Yup, even Lyin Ted Cruz.

pipe bombs being mailed to other people.

It's really all about Trump, how he feels, and how it all impacts him.

If the pipe bombs were sent to Repugs...
I BET they'd be screaming bloody murder instead of playing the damned blame game.

an unrequested bucket of chicken (all dark meat) and they magically turned it into a "bomb" as a false flag. The "bomb" now rests in the horrid gut of a man without a single redeeming quality. May it hasten his inevitable killer heart attack.

that this orange, flabby, obese cretin will live forever. He is a boil on the arse of the entire gop who prop him up no matter what vile statements he makes. He was the best the gop had to offer, and that is disgustingly true.

the saddest commentary on the state of the Republic party one could ever imagine. That Trump - the most vile, morally bereft sub-human on the planet - is now the standard bearer of the Republic party boggles the mind. The Republic party is truly dead.

8. An arm's-length attempt to Demonize Democrats by rallying Trump's base before the election

ask yourself - They are focusing on Florida, 60 miles from Mar-a-Lago?

If the case goes cold, they never find the perp because he hid his identity perfectly despite his crude bombs that left no further clues, why am I thinking this whole thing is an inside job?

Demonize Democrats and blame the media. It is all part of strategy.

Didn't we expect that base to turn out and vote red anyway? Seems like all this rah-rah and poor me stuff they're doing right now is playing to be people that were going to go out to vote for them no matter what.

Not sure it's all that effective or all that threatening to the dems.

Bombs to Democrats is powerful red meat to remind them who their "enemy" is

If "poor little me, the mean media is picking on me" is all you've got, you play your hand.

That's why I think these events are not some lone nut, but are based on shrewd calculation

Still don't think it's motivating force for their base to get out and vote. I think they were all going to do that anyway.

this nightmare before it could have gotten up and started walking. We should have never given this shit a chance. We should have been willing to shut down this country before allowing trump to enter our white house. We should have dragged those fucking treasonous republicans thru the streets of DC to a guillotine before we allowed them to deny President Obama his supreme court pick. I wish we would be more "unfair". On that note, fuck you GOP.

15. If Bernie Sanders Claimed That He Was The Victim When A Supporter Shot a GOP Congressman...

...how would have that gone over?

I understand that there is this idea that Democrats should act like Trump and other Republicans, but this is only possible if you have a whole media propaganda apparatus like Fox News and the rest of RW media that will push your talking points.

I just don't see CNN or Rachel Maddow jumping on the bandwagon if Bernie Sanders claimed that he was the true victim when one of his supporters shot a GOP congressman.
