MAGA bomber suspect Cesar Sayoc was banned from mother's home over his support of Trump

Source: NY Daily News

The Trump-touting, pizza-delivering strip club DJ accused of sending more than a dozen pipe bombs to prominent Democrats across the country fell out with his own mother over his right-wing vitriol and was barred from her Florida home, a source who knows the family said.

The last straw for accused MAGA-bomber Cesar Sayoc Jr. was when he appeared at his mother’s condo complex in a Make America Great Hat in 2016, said the source.

After that his mother asked security not to let him in to come visit her anymore — not because she was scared, but because she didn’t want him to tarnish her reputation as an upstanding Democrat in her politically engaged and progressive community.

“When he came out as a Republican, that was the last straw that broke the camel's back,” the family contact said. “That was it, because one day, he came in a red hat, with 'Trump,' and that was it — ‘No, I don't want to see him in my apartment.’”

He had such a good mother. I feel sorry for her. She put up with his shit for years, but supporting tRump was just too much.

She did not harbor someone trying to kill . Sympathy for her and what she is going through is due.

I saw an interview with the family lawyer, who had worked with them on his legal problems. The son was very difficult and the family struggled to help him for years. Very different, and more believable to me, than this cartoonish account. "Mom kicked him out for wearing a MAGA hat, because she was embarrassed!"

She can love her child and even employ an attorney to defend him but, equally, recognize Cesar Sayoc was a sick individual beyond her ability to help or have interactions with, beyond paying for a lawyer.

It happens in Families a LOT more OFTEN than you may think. Especially, in the Era of Trump.

The source is unnamed and only referred to as "a source who knows the family", which says nothing. How does this source have any idea what happened? It sounds like someone trying to make Democrats seem petty. If his mother did kick him out there was probably a lot more to it than that. The bomber was obviously dangers and unstable, which seems much more likely why it happened.

It was probably the straw that broke the camel's back moment. If they had been having issues over the years, this was just it.

Several years ago, it was reported in many French publications that Marie Le Pen and her father had completely fallen out after a few years of animosity. The event that triggered the end was his dog attacked her cat.

this ambulatory affliction coming by in an embarrassing hat was too much?

Trashy yellow journalism. I don't think anyone who'd even merely been close to a family suffering from having a son like this, much less people who'd suffered this ongoing tribulation personally, would swallow this simplistic and indecently insulting account.

A certain amount of emotional distancing for self protection is necessary, and I'm guessing this is hardly the first time they refused to allow him to come act out around them.

We all know what he did wrong and how horrible it was, and we all know who the injured parties are and that they really are victims here, but at least she doesn't have any grieving families to make her peace with. As bad as this is, that's a level of awful she at least was spared.
