Boston Red Sox visit to White House up in the air, manager Alex Cora says

Source: CBS News

BOSTON — Will the World Series champion Boston Red Sox visit President Trump at the White House? Manager Alex Cora said that decision hasn't been made yet, CBS Boston reports.

Cora was asked if the team would make the trip — if invited — during his news conference after the Red Sox beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 in L.A. Sunday night to take the crown in five games.

"We'll talk about it later on," Cora said.

Earlier this fall, Cora was critical of the president's comments about Puerto Rico, where Cora grew up.

probably now wants to piss on the team that beat his frigging team, the dodgers. Don't expect any class or honor from the republican Draft-dodger.

Don't go.

Trump throwing those rolls of paper towels in Puerto Rico would leave an indelible mark with me.

Not going does send a message. I have a Trump friend who told me he doesn't like the Eagles anymore and I asked why? He said because they didn't go to the White House. If this hurts Trumpers just think what it does to Trump?

under the MLB labor agreement. Players have to agree to non-game related events except for those spelled out in the agreement.

it up to the individuals. And I'm sure there are some MAGAs on team.

I'm sure Cora hates him. Puerto Rico - and he's good friends with Dave Roberts, who was publicly insulted by the Orange Menace.

You know there are individual members of the team that will refuse to appease that anti-American racist biggotted POS. They also have to know by now that if they do visit that Trump will make it about himself.

Trump represents the things that are tearing away at the fabric of our democracy. For the things that reflect our feeling as fans of a great sport please reject and invitation should it be offered.

Baseball still has "two" anthems during games, God Bless America being one (as opposed to Take Me Out to the Ballgame)...baseball, and I LOVE baseball, is a very nationalistic proceeding. I suspect the team will go, but some will boycott. Boycotts are fun...it shows who the assholes are, remember Mark Chmura, the righty Packers (football player) who boycotted Bill Clinton, but then got busted banging his kid's baby sitter. Just another POS Republican asshole hypocrite.

If they announce in advance they're not interested Spanky will just Tweet that he wasn't going to invite them anyway.

Their reward is ducking it on Wednesday's parade in Boston. I hope to be there -it will be nuts. There are no Curt Schillings on this team, as far as I know. Cora - one of the lowest paid managers in MLB - had specific demands in his contract for hurricane relief for his hometown in PR. I think we know where he stands on a visit to the WH.

If there is a vote, the vast majority won't want to be anywhere near this toxic orange gasbag.

PS, Warner owns the Boston Globe...not exactly the Howie Carr, Trump loving Boston Herald. Gerry Callahan, the Rush Limbaugh of Boston talk radio, will not be pleased.
