Trump says he's thankful for making a 'tremendous difference in this country'
Source: The Hill
President Trump said Thursday that he is thankful "for having a great family and for having made a tremendous difference in this country."
Trump made the comment when asked by reporters what he is grateful for on Thanksgiving shortly after holding a phone call with troops overseas.
Ive made a tremendous difference in the country, Trump said. This countrys so much stronger than it was when I took office and you wouldnt believe it..
I mean you see it, but [it's] so much stronger that people cant even believe it, Trump said. When I see foreign leaders, they say, We cannot believe the difference in strength between the United States now and the United States two years ago.'
The country made a lot of progress, he added. . . .

(4,218 posts)I have never seen anything like this before and Ive got some years behind me, many of them dealing with the public. Even crazier than his looney speech is that there are so many who believe him. I need to pretend he doesnt exist for the rest of the afternoon.

(4,218 posts)I keep thinking, can he stoop lower, and by golly he does. And to subject deployed military to his petty annoyances about some circuit court judges is unforgivable. But then again, he has a long list of offenses that fall into that category. My head doesnt stop shaking.

(9,426 posts)difference. The US USED to be respected worldwide. No more. We USED to have allies. No more. We had a GREAT respected, highly intelligent, caring, happily married President, with a terrific family. No more. We have the tRump crime family of grifters, robbing the treasury blind, protecting them as they hunt, shop, vacation etc. He does not give other leaders a chance to say what they feel, so how would he know? He really is a dumbass. The next president needs to have a mental ability test, after this mentally deficient clown, we can not tolerate another disaster.

When I was young, so many of the popular movies were about World War II, so even those who took little interest in history, knew what happened.

They also said he should not have talked about the magnetic problems they're experiencing on board right now. Dotard could care less about national security, or anything else, when he has a chance to show off his "vast" military knowledge to his ignorant base.

(12,586 posts)Despite his mindless bluster, the truth is that the military that exists today is more-or-less the same one he inherited from President Obama, and that was a pretty good military. Obama knew he didn't have military experience, so he hired the best people he could find and actually listened to their advice before making a decision. As a result of this approach Osama bin Laden was killed.
The biggest fantasy he has is that every foreign leader admires and praises him. They're all counting the months until he's gone.

Perhaps as a result, demand for exorcismsthe Catholic Churchs antidote to demonic possessionseems to be growing as well. Though the Church does not keep official statistics, the exorcists I interviewed for this article attest to fielding more pleas for help every year.
Father Vincent Lampert, the official exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, told me in early October that hed received 1,700 phone or email requests for exorcisms in 2018, by far the most hes ever gotten in one year. Father Gary Thomasa priest whose training as an exorcist in Rome was documented in The Rite, a book published in 2009 and made into a movie in 2011said that he gets at least a dozen requests a week. Several other priests reported that without support from church staff and volunteers, their exorcism ministries would quickly swallow up their entire weekly schedules.
The Church has been training new exorcists in Chicago, Rome, and Manila. Thomas told me that in 2011 the U.S. had fewer than 15 known Catholic exorcists. Today, he said, there are well over 100. Other exorcists I spoke with put the number between 70 and 100. (Again, no official statistics exist, and most dioceses conceal the identity of their appointed exorcist, to avoid unwanted attention.)
