New book by Trump advisers alleges that the president has 'embedded enemies'

Two of the president's longest-serving advisers allege in a new book that scores of officials inside the White House, Congress, the Justice Department and intelligence agencies are "embedded enemies of President Trump" working to stymie his agenda and delegitimize his presidency.
The authors, Corey R. Lewandowski and David N. Bossie, are both Republican operatives who do not work in the administration but are close to Trump and fashion themselves as his outside protectors. They portray the president as victim to disloyalty on his staff and "swamp creatures" intent on extinguishing his political movement.
Their book, "Trump's Enemies: How the Deep State Is Undermining the Presidency," which is being released Tuesday and was obtained in advance by The Washington Post, paints a dark and at times conspiratorial portrait of Trump's Washington. The authors identify by name a number of Trump appointees who they claim have formed a "resistance" inside the government during the first two years of Trump's presidency.
Lewandowski and Bossie write that these officials "attack the administration with a thousand cuts. They do this in complete disregard to the millions of Americans who voted for Donald Trump. They do it only for their own ends. There are far too many people in the deep reaches of the federal government who harbor as deep a hatred of Trump as does anyone from the Clinton/Obama cabal. The thing is, they get away with it when no one is looking."

Trump advisers allege embedded enemies trying to undermine president

Lewandowski, Trumps former campaign manager, and Bossie, the presidents former deputy campaign manager, tear into a number of Trump appointees, including former National Economic Council director Gary Cohn and former staff secretary Rob Porter, in addition to Trumps critics and Democratic opponents.
There are far too many people in the deep reaches of the federal government who harbor as deep a hatred of Trump as does anyone from the Clinton/Obama cabal, the authors write, according to the Post. The thing is, they get away with it when no one is looking.
The book also includes an interview with the president, in which Trump blasts the Fake News as the greatest enemy of this country and says that he should have fired former FBI director James Comey sooner: I should have fired him the day after I won and announced please get the hell out.
Lewandowski and Bossies book, which the Post says reads in part like Trumps Twitter grievances in book form, falls in line with Trumps accusations of a deep state working against him inside the administration.
Earlier this year, a New York Times op-ed from an anonymous senior administration official described a team of some staffers working against Trump.

I could not contribute any further words of revulsion than the one word, 'sick'.

(4,066 posts)They need to stop being so melodramatic. Every President has enemies and people trying to stymie their agenda in all the branches of government. Stop acting like Trump is the first one ever and that his treatment is so much worse than others'.

(9,426 posts)hired everyone who "works" for him? Lewendowski is a suck-up who will say and do anything to get back into the WH and on government payroll. The reason people despise tRump is because he is a fraud. No presidential qualifications whatsoever - NONE. He is a clown, complete with clown makeup. He has to keep his family members in their positions, to boost his ego. They are as unqualified as he is. Ivanka an advisor? For what - how to make champagne popsicles? Surely this book is a parody?

(12,586 posts)Not only Hillary's three million, but the more than six million voters who chose to vote for third party candidates. He has no mandate.
Also, why would Trump-appointed members of his administration work against his agenda? I thought he only appointed "the best people."

(18,636 posts)...the majority of people everywhere don't like Donald Trump. Lewindowski had to write a book to tell us that?
He makes it sound like it's a disgrace or something. Book advances aside, Lewindowski probably doesn't really care much for him either.

(31,464 posts)Very few people actually buy these obvious hit pieces, so PACs and special interest groups buy them by the case to a) inflate sales figures, b) distribute for free, or as prizes or sign-up gifts, to their moron minions. But Im pretty sure the NYT indicates bulk sales in their figures...which means those minions will never see it.

2018, Book , 275 pages ;
"Summary/Review: This book will reveal the heart of the hostile bureaucratic network that has been operating in the shadows until the American people voted Trump into office. Trump's determination to transform the government, wipe out the swamp, and reduce the power of the bureaucratic machine has set him on a collision course with agencies populated by a workforce resistant to the American people's agenda. That collision, however, is one that the president is prepared to meet head-on. Why? Because it is the key to unraveling the very swamp the administration is determined to end. The reader will have a front-row, exclusive seat for the political battles inside the White House and the war it is waging against those government bureaucrats, establishment officials, and foes within the Obama administration. This book will expose the political and bureaucratic underbelly, its struggle to survive against an unorthodox commander-and-chief, and its willingness to do almost anything to stop him"

One of the two major parties support this nut and enable him.
Thankfully, there are a few patriots putting the country first to try to contain the damage.
But the authors of this book are too blind and stupid to see that.
I don't think I'm missing much passing on such a book.
