(15,540 posts)Where's GW Bush? Didn't he proclaim this years ago?
One more instance where the American public fell for some phony guy who was also pretty much a failure at everything he did or shall I say, was handed by his Daddy.

The Department of Defense has identified three U.S. special operations service members killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan. They were identified as Army Capt. Andrew Patrick Ross, 29, of Lexington, Virginia, Army Sgt. 1st Class Eric Michael Emond, 39, of Brush Prairie, Washington, and Air Force Staff Sgt. Dylan J. Elchin, 25, of Hookstown, Pennsylvania.
Their deaths bring the total number of U.S. service members killed in the country this year to 13.
Army Green Berets, Ross and Emond were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Elchin was assigned to the 26th Special Tactics Squadron at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. Three other U.S. service members and an American contractor were also wounded in the attack.
The service members were all riding in a heavily armored Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle when the roadside bomb exploded. MRAP's are the standard patrol vehicle for U.S. forces in Afghanistan because of the protection they afford specifically for roadside bombs.

(33,345 posts)Kerry was right then; it applies here.
Bush's approach to Afghanistan was flawed from the start; he compounded that mistake a thousandfold in Iraq, and stuck Obama with the cleanup while the Congress tied his hands.
The Taliban will return to power a month after we finally leave. Whenever that is.
