CNN: Harris town hall was most viewed event of its kind

Source: Politico

Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) broke records Monday when her televised town hall became the most viewed event of its kind in cable news history, according to CNN.

The town hall, moderated by CNN’s Jake Tapper in Des Moines, Iowa, allowed Harris to outline her platform as she vies for her party’s presidential nomination. Harris officially announced her candidacy Sunday and entered a potentially crowded field, from veteran Democrats like Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York to newer faces on the national stage like Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Indiana.

The town hall averaged 1.957 million views — the most of any cable-news, single-candidate town hall and 75 percent more than CNN’s average for that hour over the past four weeks, according to a CNN news release. CNN cited Nielsen ratings for that night, a standard measure for TV viewership.

This was a good start though. Harris had a very receptive audience, and the enthusiasm was infectious.

I think she brings the most complete package to the table.
Especially considering the importance of CA moving their primary to March, she will lock down a commanding lead right out of the gate in the primary cycle.

About time we stopped letting rural, less progressive areas of the country determine who our candidates will be.

Not that there aren't great people there, mind you...

I have bitched about CA being last to vote for a loooooong time. I was reading a local Dem paper and it said that CA is really expensive to campaign in so that unfortunately will leave the candidates with less momey to spend out in the cold.

For good reason. Exciting and charismatic - exactly the right adjectives.

This person is VERY VERY intelligent. There is no "luggage" which the bad guys can use against her. She has an outstanding public track record which the GOP hates. The GOP hates WOMEN which this lady is to the GOP. I voted for her, and I plan to vote for her AGAIN.....
