Trump says 'Radical Left' politicians are suing to stop his emergency declaration

Source: The Washington Post

By John Wagner February 19 at 9:11 AM

President Trump on Tuesday cast the states that are suing to block his declaration of a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border as being “led mostly by Open Border Democrats and the Radical Left,” as he made his first public comments on Monday’s action.

In morning tweets, Trump incorrectly said that the lawsuit, which seeks to prevent him from funding border barriers without congressional consent, was brought by cities, rather than states. He corrected the error about an hour later.

Trump also noted that he had predicted during an event in the Rose Garden last week that an action would be brought in the federal judiciary’s 9th Circuit, where courts have often ruled against the administration.

“As I predicted, 16 cities, led mostly by Open Border Democrats and the Radical Left, have filed a lawsuit in, of course, the 9th Circuit!” Trump wrote. “California, the state that has wasted billions of dollars on their out of control Fast Train, with no hope of completion, seems in charge!”

can't talk any more. Most Americans don't know what socialism means, they don't know what we currently spend our money on, like the military, and corporate tax breaks. They will be easily swayed by ads by pacs showing us all as crazy leftie socialists. Using socialist like communist in dark ads to scare the masses.

It's been 30 years since the fall of the Soviet Union, and "Communist" China is a capitalist powerhouse.

of "socialism". We have to win nationally to get rid of 45, this type of campaign against us might work if we are not careful in hitting back. I think we need ads to show clearly what we are for, and what liberals have been for during the history of our country. We have to go against the Fox news machine.

But we don't need to, we just need to pick up a few voters in those areas. I think a candidate who speaks to their needs will get those voters.

I saw a graphic of the 2018 election showing the blue shift of every district in the country. Almost all districts shifted blue, even very red ones. The right candidate can continue the trend and win.

Not just the urban areas either. We could lose my home state of Illinois if we lose all of downstate. It is easy to forget about "the rest of the country" when all we hear is the two coasts. As long as the electoral college is still the lay of the land, we need to worry about the states I have talked about.

Blue shift was very strong in Midwestern states. They are not happy with Trump.

It will get out the vote in droves. I just hope we don't get cocky thinking 2018 gave us a free pass to do what we want. We need the White House and the Senate if we want to really stop the destruction of our country.

and a new one emerging. A democrat who focuses on certain key issues could win. I like Klobuchar's economic message. Also, she doesn't want to abolish ICE, which I think is the right move. If she comes up with a comprehensive immigration reform package and sells it well, she could win.

assuming you don't see more of the likes of Jill Stein siphoning off votes. 2016 was the first time since 1988 that PA voted for a GOP President and the margin was only 44,000 votes out of 6.1 million cast here (Stein got 49,000).

PA also gained 4 new Democratic Congressional seats in 2018 after the gerrymandering was thrown out and both the state House and state Senate had Democratic seat gains as well!
