Akin says Missourians have forgiven his 'foot in mouth incident'

Source: KCTV

LEE'S SUMMIT, MO (KCTV) -
U.S. Rep. Todd Akin made several campaign stops in the Kansas City area Wednesday.

Despite Republican Party leaders seeking his departure from the U.S. Senate race, Akin said he is in it to defeat incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-MO.

"Right now, I have no doubt (that) I have the majority of the Republican people in the state supporting me," Akin said. "What I've found is the great people of Missouri say, 'We forgive you. We're not upset about it.'"

He said voters don't have to like him, but that his voting record will win him the election.

Claire is going to mop the floor with him come election time. Even the locals are starting to get his number.

He said nothing about Social Security, Medicare, nor Medicaid, but talked about the dangers to the economy of the estate tax.

There were as many Counter protesters as Akin supporters if not slightly more. Protesters said the Pledge of Allegiance right along with Akin and Emery supporters and some Fair Taxers, who were the largest group amongst the Akin supporters, prayed with their minister, and sang patriotic songs right along with a local Tea Party songster.

It must be if you have more protesters than supporters in a red area. The Obama/McCaskil haters are too embarrassed to show up

homes less than 1/2 mile away.

The media group was about the same size as the fair-taxer group. Total of something like 40 Akin & Emery supporters present, tops.

They hate McCaskill and Obama too much not to. They'll reluctantly accept Mittens.

and I would accept that the poster knows his own folks. You are right about many others. They will hold their nose & vote not for him but against McCaskill. The end results are still a vote for him as we know, but the reasonings are individual. He's what they got just like "Mr. Foreign Policy" Romney so he gets their vote.
