Clinton on Assange arrest: 'He has to answer for what he has done'
April 12 at 7:59 AM
The moderator wondered whether Hillary Clinton might have thoughts on Julian Assanges arrest noting that Clinton has some familiarity with the WikiLeaks founders work.
I do, I do, she replied, laughing, three years after WikiLeaks published leaked emails from her campaign chairman, along with a trove of emails sent to and from her private server.
...............
Then she joked: I do think its a little ironic that he may be the only foreigner that this administration would welcome to the United States.
........................................................
It is clear from the indictment that came out its not about punishing journalism, the former secretary of state said. Its about assisting the hacking of the military computer to steal information from the United States government...........................

It appears that HRC's private server was the more secure device in America during the Obama years.

(397 posts)Extradition law demands that country name all the charges against a suspect. After extradition, no further charges may be added.
If Assange is only charged with trying to help Chelsea Manning access government computers, then it will not be possible to bring him to court on charges of his collusion with GRU and Trump campaign.
Bringing Assange to the USA this way could be a way of silencing him

(9 posts)i don't think trump wants him to say anything anytime anywhere.
he doesn't want to take the chance that assange will rat him out for a plea deal or anything else. i still think they might find some convenient loophole to nix the extradition. in any case, it would be a closed court to try to mute him. trump may feel barr can mask this one too. it doesn't seem to matter. trump supporters don't seem to care that trump is evil. if they don't care about all the hell he has already wreaked, these charges are only small time. we are only federally talking about collusion while trump is... well you know.
the bottom line is trump is not the worst person is america. everyone who supports him is even worse. america sucks. i used to assume we were all victims. i couldn't imagine that people were really putting up with this. but i speak to people sometimes and am always very surprised when they say they support him. i try to focus my hatred on trump, but i can't forget that my neighbors are beyond hope for all eternity. i will never forgive or help them or their children. i demand respect and if i don't get it, i don't give it. is it just my imagination; it feels like war, and i am losing.

(4,721 posts)I see the USA exerting its overpowering, overwhelming, unjust, insatiable power and pressure over other sovereign nations undoubtedly using overt as well as covert tactics perfected in untold situations ever since WWII. So, I see nothing to rejoice about even if Assange is an asshole, because we are the biggest bully in the hood.
