Trump Suggests Ex-WH Lawyer Don McGahn Fabricated Evidence in 'Total Bullsh*t' Mueller Report

Last edited Fri Apr 19, 2019, 09:50 AM - Edit history (1)

Source: Mediaite

President Donald Trump commented directly on the findings released Thursday by Special Counsel Robert Mueller via his favorite social media platform. And he appears to be accusing his former White House counsel Don McGahn of fabricated the notes at the root of some of the most damning evidence of obstruction of justice detailed in the 448-page report.

Changing the dismissive terminology surrounding the nearly two-year investigation, going from “witch hunt” to now, the “Crazy Mueller Report,” Trump said that “statements made by certain people” are “fabricated & totally untrue.” He then warned “watch out for people that take so-called notes,” claiming that “the notes never existed.”

Trump added that he did not agree to an interview with Mueller’s team, because he felt some of the statements made about him were “total bullshit.”

One of the most damning details regarding obstruction is the news that Trump asked Don McGahn to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller, but McGahn refused. McGahn’s detailed notes from these meetings support the allegation.

I posted a GD thread about Trump's tweets after the first one appeared

https://www.democraticunderground.com/100212026959

and decided then to wait to post in LBN about this until Trump posted the tweet that was apparentlsy going to follow the second one.

But it's been an hour now since the second, unfinished tweet, and Trump still hasn't added to it (maybe someone grabbed his phone, or maybe he dropped it in the toilet), so I'm going with Mediaite's article on the tweets. Which also notes that this is apparently an unfinished Twitter thread.

Editing to add that Trump went golfing after those two unfinished tweets:

Trump blasts ex-advisers who say he tried to stop Mueller
By NANCY BENAC, CHAD DAY, ERIC TUCKER and MICHAEL BALSAMO Associated Press 47 min ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — A day after celebrating the release of the Mueller report as "a good day," President Donald Trump struck a defiant tone Friday, unleashing tweets saying claims in the report by former administration officials that he tried numerous times to stop or influence the probe were "total bullshit."

According to the 448-page report released Thursday , Trump discouraged witnesses from cooperating with prosecutors and prodded aides to mislead the public on his behalf to hamper the Russia probe he feared would cripple his administration.

The report's bottom line largely tracked the findings revealed in Attorney General William Barr's four-page memo a month ago — no Trump campaign collusion with Russia around the 2016 election, but no clear verdict on obstruction. But the report added new layers of detail about Trump's efforts to thwart the investigation.

Tweeting on a rainy Friday from his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, Trump lashed out at people who cooperated with Mueller's team. He said statements in the report made by some were "fabricated & totally untrue." He alleged that "notes" some people said they took after meetings didn't exist but were created for the Mueller investigation.

"I never agreed to testify, it was not necessary for me to respond to statements made in the 'Report' about me, some of which are total bullshit & only given to make the other person look good (or me to look bad)," Trump tweeted. "This was an Illegally Started Hoax that never should have happened."

Completely untrue, the report goes into great detail describing a whole heap of collusion leaving no doubt whatsoever that there was collusion and quite a bit of it.

For example, the Access Holiday tape, which he first acknowledged as being true and later said it was fake.

The video of Fat Donnie sitting in front of the cameras saying, "I'll take complete responsibility for a government shutdown," and then blaming Pelosi and the Democrats for it.

Saying he wanted Russia to find Hillary's 30,000 emails, being thoroughly questioned on the statement by Katy Tur to ensure he was serious, and two years later saying it was uttered in jest.

I believe McGann's notes.

Does he really think people believe him after all the lying? Really?

I don't think it matters to him. He believes himself. He likes to create the world he wants to live in, so he does. If you go along with it, in his mind you are a good guy. If not, you are an evil enemy.

He's so nuts. I can't keep up.

Just like he'll have Barr and other fabricate they committed crimes , and will threaten prosecution , and this will be used against Mueller, Rosenstein , Hillary, and any others who would tell the truth to expose them, or oppose them. This has putin's fingerprints all over it. How long before we find out Rosenstein has also been threatened , using his pension, or threats of his being falsely accused and threatened with his prosecution? That is what trump and the gop are deathly scared of, being fully exposed with the truth now. I think Ghouliani will eventually be in the same boat with trump, and talk.
