A senior adviser to President Trump’s 2020 campaign posted a video of a 2015 Ukrainian missile firing, misidentifying it as rockets being fired into Israel from Gaza, in an attempt to attack Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who has been critical of U.S. support of Israel.

In the tweet, Pierson claims that “650 rockets” were fired into Israel, four people were killed and 28 wounded before she called on Omar to respond “to this violence.”

“Will she condemn it?” she tweeted.

After a weekend of violence that the area has not seen since 2014, Israel and the Palestinians reached a tentative ceasefire agreement early Monday morning. At least 22 Palestinians and four Israelis were killed.

Republicans and Democrats alike have been critical of Omar — a supporter of the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement — for her stance on the U.S.’s support of Israel. Omar called on Israel to end its “occupation” of the Gaza strip and an end to the “cycle of violence” early Monday just before the ceasefire was announced...........................

I get really frustrated when having this conversation. I am in no way trying to be antisemitic in saying this. In my opinion, when 26 human beings die, this is an act of mankind. Extended generational hatred is of man, not of God. This is true for both sides of the conflict.So looking at the situation between Israel and Palestine, I see one highly militarized geopolitical group fighting another geopolitical group that is not in the same league as far as military hardware. Every time that there is a conflict, one side suffers 5 times the casualties. And the winner keeps taking the losers land. Period. I’m leaving any sense of God out of this. I am a Humanist. In Humanistic terms, there is a stark disparity between the two sides. I hope that I have made this clear. I am tired of being accused of antisemitism when I talk about the physical facts of what is happening in this conflict.
