Mosque fire under investigation

The state Fire Marshal’s office and the New Haven Fire Marshal’s office are investigating the cause of a two-alarm mosque fire in New Haven Sunday afternoon.
Rick Fontana, director of the New Haven Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security said Sunday that city firefighters quickly brought the fire at the Diyanet Mosque at 531 Middletown Ave. under control and that the blaze damaged parts of the first and second floors that were under construction.
Fontana said there were no injuries reported.
