Trump rejects need for climate action at G-20: US has 'cleanest' water and air 'we've ever had'

Source: The Hill

President Trump broke with the Group of 20 (G-20) nations on the need for climate change action on Saturday, saying the United States has the “cleanest water we have ever had.”

“We have the cleanest water we have ever had,” Trump said at a news conference at the G-20 summit in Japan. “We have the cleanest air we’ve ever had, but I’m not willing to sacrifice the tremendous power of what we’ve built up over a long period of time and what I’ve enhanced and revived.”

The U.S. joined the other G-20 nations in signing on to a communique that sought to commit the countries to taking action to curb climate change. However, the U.S. reportedly signed on to the declaration only after it was able to include a clause in the document that would allow it to be exempt from commitments outlined in the agreement.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Trump said, “I’m not sure that I agree with certain countries with what they are doing. It doesn’t always work with a windmill. When the wind goes off, the plant isn’t working".

it's thanks to the regulations that were put into place over the past few decades putting limits on emissions ad effluvia.

You know - all of those regulations that you are doing your damndest to get rid of to let corporations pollute as much as they want to.

They knew there was a new sheriff in town.

The empirical truth is that both air pollution have gotten worse under Fat Donnie, and he's getting rid of regulations and water deregulation is set up to return the U.S. to the days of dead lakes and burning rivers.

The MSM has got to stop parroting Trump's lies, but begin countering them with the truth in the same article. Otherwise they're just a propaganda tool for the Trump regime.

She is on every network in the fight of our lives exposing the total destruction of our planet by Donny, Putin, et.al. You rock Jill. Run again, please, the earth needs you. You certainly need some more cash flow, been a few years since you've milked some liberals, and Puty gave you a pay check. MAGA, make us Green, then the Great can begin. Not cash green!!

Remember, typed text carries none of the visual and verbal queues humans evolved for with verbal communication. If your post is meant as sarcasm you need to go to smiles and find the sarcasm thingy.

I assumed your post was sarcasm but did not know for sure until your second post.

And I agree with your assessment.

Thank you. We are all on edge at the prospect of going over the edge. That edge is steep and deep and may be impossible to climb out of. We have armed militia in Oregon willing to kill police to keep GOP from voting on excessive Corp emissions. My state, N.C. Has removed emission testing from vehicle inspections once per year. We save $20 a year on inspection, at what damn cost to the planet. What benefit is not testing vehicle emissions? Knuckle draggers see it as a $20 lottery win and will praise the GOP for MAGA. Again, where is Jill Stien fighting for a green planet. Her head pops out once, every 4 years for another paycheck then goes into hiding, with GOP.

There was no valid reason for including the claims about water and air quality without proper verification. Do The Hill's executives even care that these headlines are broadcast around the globe and often taken as fact, or that such statements affect U.S. public opinion regarding our need for strong environmental control laws and regulations?

What ever happened to basic ethics in journalism?..... ........
