Actress Denise Nickerson, best known for her role as chatty gum-chewer Violet Beauregard in 1971's "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory," has died, according to multiple reports citing a Facebook post from her family.

1. She was 62 and died apparently of a stroke...

Was looking at the picture of her....she didn't look well. Very thin and there is mention in the article quoting her about her dental health. My first thought when I saw her picture is drugs (Meth?) and then read the dental health comment.

She hadn't acted since 1976, only 6 years after she made Willy Wonka. Wonder what happened in her life. But it sounds like it took a toll on her. Sadly this happens to many child actors.

2. Suicide?

TMZ: Nickerson, who suffered a stroke last year, was at home Monday (7/8) and, according to her family, she got into her meds at home and took as many as she could. Her family came to check on her shortly thereafter and rushed her to the ER...

(D)octors diagnosed her with pneumonia. On Tuesday, she suffered a massive seizure and doctors put Denise on life support...(H)er family tells TMZ they have now taken her off the respirator...removed her IVs and stopped giving her medicine...
