Trump knocks Dems for tweeting Obama-era 'kids in cages' photo

President Trump on Thursday knocked House Democrats for using a picture of migrant children in cages that was taken in 2014, during the Obama administration, in a tweet to promote a hearing on immigrant detention facilities.

Republicans have highlighted the now-deleted tweet, saying the picture is evidence that Democrats are playing politics with the border.

"Continuing to prove that Dems are only playing politics with the border crisis, House Democrats promoted a hearing on 'kids in cages' with a photo taken in 2014," Tim Murtaugh, director of communications for Trump's reelection campaign, tweeted. "As in, during the Obama Administration.

"Don’t bother looking for their tweet — it’s been deleted," he added.

2. These were indeed built in FY 2015

to house a large influx of unaccompanied minors who needed to be segregated by gender for the 72 hours they may have had to wait before being transferred to HHS for care and disposition. That is not at all what is going on now under this administration. The dems screwed this up and should have done just a bit of research before giving the rethugs the "both sides do it" trope to use against trumps detractors.
