Trump says people of Baltimore are "living in hell"

Source: CBS News

President Trump is not backing off of his salvos against black Democratic Rep. Elijah Cummings and Baltimore. On Tuesday, the president told reporters on the White House South Lawn that residents of Baltimore are "living in hell."

"Those people are living in hell in Baltimore," Mr. Trump said, continuing his rant against the city just to the north. "They're largely African-American ... and they really appreciate what I'm doing, and they let me know it."

Mr. Trump claimed, without evidence Tuesday, that "thousands" of people have let his administration know they're "thankful" he's calling attention to Baltimore, saying African-Americans are "happy as hell" he's highlighting the "corruption" there.

The president has been attacking Cummings and Baltimore since early Saturday morning tweets in which he blamed Cummings for Baltimore being "infested" with rodents. Mr. Trump on Tuesday suggested that Cummings' House Oversight and Reform Committee, which recently issued subpoenas for records belonging to the president's family members, should start investigating Baltimore. Republicans have remained largely silent on the president's attacks.

tRump also insisted that he's the "least racist person" anywhere in the "world."

Other characteristic traits of such narcissists** (and this also applies to the female variety) include:

Control freaks
Irritability
Short fuses
Low frustration tolerance
Argumentative
Need to have the last word
Unable to lose
Won’t take “No” for an answer
Quick to anger if you don’t accommodate them
Quick to being aggressively defensive if you call them on any deficiency, fault or responsibility
Can’t apologize or if do, can’t do it sincerely
Rarely say, “Thank you” or “Congratulations”
Don’t feel or demonstrate remorse
Feel entitled to enthusiastic and appreciative approval, adoration, agreement and obedience
Gloat in victory, sullen in defeat
Quick to rage if you humiliate them

Donald Trump....................is all of the above.................

This is not a news story. This is just another campaign event so why the free coverage. Let's see more about Moscow Mitch and his blocking election security measures. Now that is news. That is where the oxygen should be directed.

President Donald Trump’s father was once arrested over the deplorable conditions at his Maryland apartment project.

The president has spent the week attacking Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) over poverty in the city of Baltimore, which Trump has called “disgusting” and a “rat and rodent infested mess,” but his own father was taken into police custody for neglecting his property not far away, according to a 1976 report by the Washington Post.

Fred Trump failed to pay for repairs mandated by local officials in Prince George County, where he owned apartment buildings in Seat Pleasant — and his housing license was revoked, preventing him from signing leases with new tenants.

The elder Trump agreed to fly to Maryland to meet with local officials on Sept. 29, 1976 — and he was arrested on arrival.

19. Baltimore Sun: Bernie Sanders likens West Baltimore to 'Third World' country

It seems like Trump is stealing from the Bernie Sanders campaign playbook:

https://www.baltimoresun.com/politics/bs-md-sanders-baltimore-20151207-story.html

The independent senator, who describes himself as a democratic socialist, walked the streets of Sandtown-Winchester for about 20 minutes, joined by community leaders and a swarm of cameras that mostly blocked his view of boarded rowhomes and crumbling marble steps. A handful of residents joined the spectacle, and occasionally broke out in chants of Gray's name.

The scene provided dramatic visuals of the economic inequality Sanders has made the center of his campaign, offering a new backdrop from which to argue for a higher minimum wage, tuition-free public college and tougher federal regulations of the nation's banking sector.

"Anyone who took the walk that we took around this neighborhood would not think you're in a wealthy nation," Sanders told reporters later at the Freddie Gray Empowerment Center in Bolton Hill. "You would think that you were in a Third World country."

* * *
"But today what we're talking about is a community in which half of the people don't have jobs," he said. "We're talking about a community in which there are hundreds of buildings that are uninhabitable."
