Texas teacher who tried to contact Trump to have her students deported is officially fired

.................................
In June, The Washington Post got its hands on tweets sent to Donald Trump from Fort Worth high school teacher Georgia Clark. Those tweets asked Trump to clean up Fort Worth, and get rid of the undocumented students from her district. She also had other racist things to say, such as Texas will not protect whistle blowers. The Mexicans refuse to honor our flag. Clark said she thought the tweets were private, though of course they werent. Clarks terrible mindset and social media skills unearthed investigations of previous infractions by Clark that seemed to run along racial lines. Examples included calling a group of students Little Mexico, and telling a girl that her hair was nappy.
Almost immediately, the Fort Worth Independent School District board voted 8-0 to terminate Clarks employment. Clark appealed her firing but on Tuesday, the Fort Worth ISD unanimously overruled her challenge and made its previous decision final.
Clark told an ABC 8 reporter earlier this summer that God was telling me, its time, youve got to do this now. What was God telling her? Supposedly to report undocumented students in her school district. Such a strange God. Well, maybe she forgot the part where God told her that she could lose her job? Clark can still appeal the this decision but neither she nor her attorney were present, so whether or not she will remains to be seen.

(22,065 posts)it cost her ability to make a living, and it also revealed just how unskilled and unaware she is of social media platforms and how they work (especially those furnished by private entities, who may or may not monitor all communications by employees on their networks). Most places of employment do state that they monitor and/or record all of their in-house communications (data and / or voice).

It really bugs me to see people rewarded for this sort of thing, though of course Kim Davis is now getting at least some of what she deserves.

(22,065 posts)the cost to them (the sarahs, and other scumbags) is often one they don't realize at first, that along w/ the tainted money comes the tainted personality that is too toxic for anyone to want to deal w/.
Notice that Sarah Palin went her way after a stint at Faux (I think Faux), and the others eventually will find that they have damaged themselves beyond repair and their employers will drop them like a hot potatoe.

(10,299 posts)Frankly I don't give a flying flamingo as to what is on her head but if she was "teaching" in a room where there was at least one female Muslim wearing a hijab my bet is that she'd probably be writing to Trump requesting for that individual to be deported irrespective of citizenship status.

(18,618 posts)And you'd almost have to go eat at El Torero to find a Mexican around here.
I keep telling people here they're mistaking the Amish for Mexicans. I point out they must see bearded men riding in a van to a roofing job and assume they're migrants. I add that they can go back to Pennsylvania Dutch where they came from. haha
My neighbors are a Chinese restaurant. They're lying low these days.

(2,412 posts)This retired Migrant Teacher is outraged that a teacher would do this to her student. She so deserved this! I hope that she grows from this experience. The children in our care in schools deserve protection. I know one school principal who in the 70s refused to let La Migra into his school and he won my admiration and respect always!

(16,917 posts)she's not gonna' "learn from this experience."
She may do some "public denouncements" of her previous positions, statements, and actions, but I'd expect that it would just be that - "public" decrees that she needed to produce to get a job. I don't really know how one could check her sincerity, but I, for one, would not want to give her the opportunity to prove that she has learned anything from this.
Besides, I'm willing to bet that there are some "private" schools that would love to have her work for them should they have a vacancy.
(boy, wouldn't you love to have your kids educated in THAT school!).

(18,618 posts)...I have to wonder why she chose teaching as a vocation. Certainly the money's not that good, and if she doesn't like her pupils, then she must have some long days at work.
I hope she doesn't go from the most noble of professions to social worker.

(430 posts)after all, they do believe the antithesis of god, lucifer or whatever name fits, exists to "confound the ways of man. So I wonder how she could tell just exactly which was talking to her.
Maybe that's the problem with all these Xtians. They are getting pawned by their very own devil and can't tell the difference! What a kick in the head!

(5,318 posts)1. Thinking Trump gives a rat's backside about what she thinks.
2. Thinking a Social Media message is private.
3. Using Trump's encouragement to voice her own internal racism.
4. Worrying about the paperwork some of her students may, or may not have. Honestly, teaching is much more than that.
5. Making comments about a student's appearance. A big no-no with developing and sensitive little people. (I wager the students in question were the best behaved ones in the school.)
6. Using 'God talked to me' style language as justification.
(Hey, God is on my side! I must be right, you can't complain! God won't like it.)
One thing went right. She no longer teaches.
There are nice teachers out there. She wasn't one of them.
