White House only wants to send Congress a 'redacted version' of whistleblower complaint on Trump: NY

Source: Raw Story

And Politico reported Tuesday Trump would release the unredacted complaint.

But The New York Times reported late Tuesday that the White House had different ideas.

“White House and intelligence officials were working out a plan on Tuesday to release a redacted version of the whistle-blower complaint that helped ignite the impeachment drive against President Trump and to allow the whistle-blower to speak with congressional investigators, people briefed on the matter said,” The Times reported. “The move toward disclosing more information demanded by Democrats was part of a broader effort by the administration to quell the growing calls for Mr. Trump’s impeachment, and became public after Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced the start of a formal impeachment inquiry.”

“People familiar with the situation said the administration was putting the complaint through a declassification process and planned to release a redacted version within days,” the newspaper added.

Here's hoping we, and especially the media, don't fall for it. Because it's a near-certainty that, even if we reject this "offer," the White House will release their sanitized version to Republican congresscritters, who will be telling every reporter who'll listen that "there's nothing impeachable" in the report, and demanding Democrats immediately shut down any inquiry. If the media falls for that narrative the way they fell for the Barr "summary" of Mueller, I have very little hope for the country.

Every time we go through this (and it's been SO many times in the last 3+ years), I end up in the same place: if they've done nothing wrong, the why do they continue to go to such incredible effort to hide the facts or to distort the facts?

I want all of these traitors gone. Now.

On what planet does the subject of a whistleblower complaint get to decide *anything* about it?

They shouldn't even have a copy of it at this stage - it should go from the complainant, through the proper channels and then to the IG, then to Congress, and they decide how to follow up on it without any input from the subject of the complaint.

Is just the tip of the iceberg. Giuliano was working against Intelligence. There were vicious fights in the WhiteHouse. The reason Dan Coats quit, insisted Gordon leave, too!

This all ties in with Trump helping Putin, doing his dirty work, with holding vitally needed money. Trump also lied about no one else helping. The EU has given billions to help the Ukraine.

I also guess that the whistleblower might have included improper phone calls and/or "promises" to Putin among the "multiple transgressions. (I shudder to think what kinds of conversations have transpired between the two, including, most recently, regarding the mole who was moved to the US, and I think that there are good reasons to worry about the safety of both the whistleblower and that mole).

If they're allowing he whistleblower to testify, the only redactions that would survive would be material that (s)he agreed should be classified.

on impeachment based solely on "Abuse of Power" as a high crime

we really don;t care about transcripts but the fact they believe they can break the law without penalty is a clear definition of Abuse of Power

Here's hoping he/she can just tell the committees what he heard/saw.

I'm still thinking its Dan Coates. Can't threaten him with firing, and any judge would throw out prosecution/persecution. They know the law.

Our whistleblower needs a name......something better than, Deep Throat. Suggestions?
