Trump Accuses Kurds of Releasing ISIS Prisoners to Bait Him Back Into Syria

Source: The Daily Beast

President Trump has accused the Syrian Kurds—who, until last week, were America's most important allies in the fight against ISIS—of releasing ISIS prisoners in an attempt to bait him. In an attack on Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade, who has been sharply critical of Trump’s actions toward the Kurds, Trump denied his decision to withdraw troops from Syria could lead to an ISIS resurgence. In an apparent response to reports that hundreds of ISIS-related prisoners have escaped since Turkey invaded Syria last week, the president tweeted: “Europe had a chance to get their ISIS prisoners, but didn’t want the cost. ‘Let the USA pay,’ they said... Kurds may be releasing some to get us involved.” Trump said the escaped prisoners should be “easily recaptured” by Turkey or European nations, which he urged to “move quickly.” The New York Times reported Sunday that the U.S. had failed to transfer five-dozen “high-value” ISIS detainees out of Syria.

ISIS members came from Europe and Turkey? No they came from Iraq and Syria because of
the power vacuum caused by bush and Cheney's unneeded war in Iraq. Can it be any more
clear that Trump is owned by Vlad?

reconstituted it and took huge swathes of land very quickly. We screwed up royally in Iraq and now trump is following suit and screwing up just as royally in Syria. His every move benefits Putin, just as any Russian asset's should.

There was a post last week of a summit meeting in the Middle East with Rhouhani, Erdogan and Putin where they decided what to do in northern Syria against the Kurds. It was literally decided then the fate of the Kurds and trump was told later what his instructions should be about the American troops there. I'm guessing the recent phone call he had with Erdogan, on which I'm sure he was reminded of what a nice hotel he had in Istanbul and it would be a shame if something happened to it, and btw, Putin and I want you to pull the American troops out of northern Syria. Any questions?

I don't know how many there were......And what percentage they composed of ISIS and how many returned home.

However, they made the news.....and I'm sure they were on Fox News.

Maybe they traveled to Syria via Turkey??

He's always complaining that Europe won't take them back...
This is about Trump's continuing feud with Europe.

As usual Trump is not articulate.

Of course this isn't the real problem because ISIS members were detained by the Kurds with support from us. I agree this isn't the most secure setup, but my hunch Trump didn't even think about this when he placated to Erdogan.

I wish I could find the original ISIS recruitment video. Damn it was slick and it looked like a video from the travel bureau of Syria..LOL. It basically had this message, "Come to Syria and feel the love". It was filmed in a green oasis.

So say he's right and they are releasing them to get the U.S. involved.

What does it say that he still doesn't care about our security to go back or stop the withdrawal?

I don't blame the Kurds if they are releasing these prisoners. They're fighting for their lives.

Nothing new there. The film I saw was the ISIS camp being bombed by artillery from Turkey and people running to keep from getting blown up by Turkey's bombardment. Why would Turkey shell a prison camp? Will ISIS stay put in Syria? I doubt it.
