You can't let that happen to me!" Trump begs Kentucky fans to block defeat of GOP gov.

LEXINGTON, Ky. — President Donald Trump made a last-minute push on Monday night for Kentucky Gov. Matt Bevin, a strong ally who is facing a tough re-election bid in a deep-red state that should be a shoo-in for Republicans.

"Here's the story," Trump told thousand of supporters ahead of Tuesday's election. "If you win, they are going to make it like, ho hum. And if you lose, they are going to say Trump suffered the greatest defeat in the history of the world. You can't let that happen to me!"

Trump's campaign is hoping the president, who won Kentucky by 30 percentage points in 2016, can give Bevin a boost over Democrat Andy Beshear, the state's attorney general, in what as regarded as a close contest, as the president continues to road test his messaging on the impeachment inquiry dogging his administration for the last six weeks.

. . .

With less than a year to go before his own re-election, Trump is looking to take credit for as many victories around the country as possible — even in states here the GOP should win easily — to show he is still a potent political force despite the headlines surrounding impeachment, a White House official said.

Or maybe they want us to think it is so it will seem like a win for him. Then he can brag and say he pulled him over the line. 🙄. Hope the Democrat kicks the incumbent’s @ss. GOTV..

He gave away the game by saying that if the Repub wins it will be "ho-hum...but if he loses etc"

He knows a Republican win in Kentucky will be about as interesting as saying "water is wet"...but a defeat will be news.

Aren't politicians supposed to tell the people what they will do for the people? Not the other way around. I had no idea it was supposed to be about the politicians asking the people to help them out.

Just utterly ridiculous. And the brainwashed just keep on going

Dotard’s base has slipped 3-4 points because he’s beginning to look like a looser. Oh yes....they love love him until he becomes, in their tiny minds the looser that he is. They will, as has been proven, put up with anything... but loosing...then you’re toast

Let’s hope he keeps up public appearances, especially sporting events where he is openly booed. Doesn’t sit well with the dotard road rage race crew that is his base

...coming from my house today!!

Watched the Nazi rally last night and was amused/sickened. The place was packed (not surprising for central KY) but the protesters were out as well.

Certainly not scientific -- but I see a LOT of Beshear signs....only seen 2 Bevin. Though I am a sort of rural county (Woodford), it is still moving towards progressive and we are not as backwards as some southern counties.

I feel good about Beshear today!

Last poll I saw, Beshear and Bevin were tied, so who knows? I think most people in my county don't even vote, or just in the presidential.
