Hillary Clinton says 'many, many, many people' pressuring her to consider 2020 presidential run
Source: CNN
Washington (CNN)Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday said "many, many, many people" were pressuring her to consider a 2020 presidential bid, but held that it is "absolutely not in my plans."
"I, as I say, never, never, never say never and I will certainly tell you I'm under enormous pressure from many, many, many people to think about it," Clinton told BBC Radio. "But as of this moment, sitting here in this studio talking to you, that is absolutely not in my plans."
CNN previously reported that Clinton, the 2016 Democratic nominee, has been taking calls from other members of her party asking her to enter the 2020 race, but it remains unlikely she would do so.
After Trump tweeted last month that Clinton should enter the race to "steal it away from Uber Left Elizabeth Warren," Clinton shot back in a tweet: "Don't tempt me. Do your job."

Whether she runs or not, this is by far her strongest indications yet on the possibility of running...

(13,056 posts)Much to my chagrin she was cheated, but i don't think Hillary should try again. I think she should sit out and help Joe or the eventual nominee AS WELL AS OUR DEMS CANDIDATES FOR HOUSE & SENATE win back the POTUS and power in DC. We are at such a critical time in our history.
Will also mention Bill & Hillary have an incredibly poised & highly intelligent spawn named Chelsea. Hillary should leave it to Chelsea to run one day in the future. I'd vote for Chelsea any day .

(19,359 posts)She'll assure 4 more years of Trump and all just to satisfy her ego.
I have gone to battle for the Clintons in 1998 (Google "talking points" and "skip fox" ) so I don't say this out of hatred but pragmatics.

(26,317 posts)believe her as its pretty late in the game to decide to run now.
About the only thing that might change her mind would be if whoever wins the nomination has a major health crisis that prevents them from running and asks her to run instead in their place but otherwise her chance has come and gone and I think she knows that.

Hillary got badly damaged with Benghazi, emails and the Russian trolls. I'm not saying that what they did to her was legitimate. I'm just saying they damaged her as a candidate.
She would have to convince that she presents the best chance to win. I really doubt she can. She is still in such a hole in the polls.

She doesnt get it. If she runs again, she will either fail miserably in the primaries, or, if somehow she won the nomination, she would get TROUNCED by Trump.
Dear God, woman, you tried, and you didnt make it. Let it rest, while you still have your honor. Work hard for whoever the nominee is.
Im with Bernie- but Hillary cannot win.

(5,124 posts)unqualified corrupt president. It is still hard to believe at times. The man is has no redeeming qualities. He does not make up for his brash disgusting demeanor with smart policies. He does not have a deft touch with trade or on the international stage. Yet, I would not want to see Sec Clinton run again. The right wing machine has made her out to be the boogey man, making it impossible for her to ever have a fair shot.

(12,587 posts)The big money has already been promised to others. And she doesnt have enough of her own. She's lost twice; move ON. And i'd bet that a DU poll would show a large majority would be against her entering the race. And if she's lost DU, she's lost period.
There are several very good candidates running right NOW, thank you very much.

I love liz, but she will get taken apart by the smear machine. Same for bernie, and thry are doing the best they can against joe.
No dem will get to fight a straight up race. Anx a loy of the hate has eorn away. Those that still hate wont vote for a dem of any stripe.

(382 posts)How would her candidacy this time change anything from last time? Does she excite young voters? Would she magically win the states leading to her electoral college loss last time? Her candidacy would engender a malaise on the average voter that would be impossible to overcome.
It isn't fair, but she has been tarred in the public view, and no one is interested in being re-educated on the virtues of Hillary Clinton.
I know I'm excited by "How We Lost in 2020: A Sequel to How We Lost in 2016."

(24,436 posts)I feel like she was robbed in 2016 but just no. We need some fresh candidates/faces and the last thing we need is a 2016 redux. Her recent public statements about Transgender women and attacks on Sanders and Warren and their wealth tax plans have really soured me on her too. I also have a bad feeling that the people urging her to run are out of a desire to keep Warren or Sanders from winning the nomination.
