Justice Department watchdog to release report on Russia probe Dec. 9

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Justice Department's internal watchdog said he expects to be able to release on Dec. 9 a long-awaited report on the origins of investigations into alleged Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.

In a letter sent on Thursday to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham, Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz said he expected his office to be able to release the report on Dec. 9 "barring unforeseen circumstances."

Supporters of President Donald Trump have claimed the report will raise questions about the legitimacy of FBI investigations into alleged links to Russia by Trump and some of his campaign advisers.

A central issue the Inspector General's office said the report will examine is how closely the FBI stuck to the law and rules when it went to a secret Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court beginning in 2016 to obtain authorization to conduct electronic monitoring of "a certain U.S. person."

7. What they will likely do

Is make a bogus issue with the FISA warrant but refuse to actually release the documents as they will remain classified. This prevents anyone involved in the actual investigation who knows the truth - be it members of Mullers team or Senators/Reps on various intelligence committees - to speak it. This was the nonsense the House tried to raise when the Republicans were in the majority, pretending they mislead the FISA judge about Steele, and it got nowhere. This will be the basis of their smoke&mirrors nonsense report which they wont have to prove because the actual documents will obviously stay classified.

Then Trump will proclaim that this proves there never should have been an investigation and pardon everyone who was convicted and demand that the indictments against the Russian hackers are dismissed.

A nation has the right to defend itself every bit as much as an individual has the right of self-preservation.

If an investigation turns up dry, so it's dry. The State always has the right and obligation to protect itself in all ways. Wouldn't be much of a State if it didn't.

So in my view this entire angle of questioning legitimacy is a bogus bunch of crooks trying to undermine national sovereignty for their own financial and political gain.
