James Comey, the former director of the FBI who has become a prime nemesis of Donald Trump, admitted on Sunday to being responsible for “real sloppiness” over the handling of surveillance of a Trump campaign adviser.

He also fiercely defended himself and the bureau against any suggestion of political bias, prompting a new threat, of “years in jail”, from Trump.

Comey, who was fired by Trump as America’s top law enforcement official in May 2017, came under intense questioning on Fox News Sunday, sparring with anchor Chris Wallace over the findings of the inspector general’s report into the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Comey seized on one of Michael Horowitz’s main conclusions, that there was no evidence of political bias in the investigation, to launch an impassioned critique of how he and his FBI colleagues had been treated by Trump.

There was no reason to announce a new email investigation before he even looked at the evidence. In less than a week, he knew that the emails were the same old ones in the NY agents’ possession for months and that it was a Rudy-fueled attempt to harm Clinton, which it did. He should have sat on those agents and stayed quiet instead of going public. I cannot forgive that.

that could have verified the emails were the same. Probably 20 minutes to write the code and 60 seconds to run it. Didn't even need a week, but that was plenty of time for the media to whip up the horse race fever.

He's no hero, and he can't walk it back.

But, look at Trump's threatening, vicious behavior. He always wants to get even, over the tiniest disagreement. If you don't follow him, he wants to hurt you. G-d help us, this is what we have to look forward to ourselves.

People want to know what he'll do when he beats impeachment. Anything. he. wants. And, he's going to purge and "get even" with anyone who opposes him.

If you notice, McConnell and Lindsey are saying right to the camera their intention of being unlawful, and pretty much declaring their loyalty to Trump. I think they are cowards and are in the same boat as Comey, just in a different way. I have no sympathy for any of these traitors, but it is instructive to me to see how they react. Pretty much the whole GOP is threatened with destruction by Trump if they don't follow along there. Hell, I don't believe in Russian Kompramat; I believe Trump has threatened and coerced Congress to the point where we don't have a democracy any more right now.

And (I'm going to hell for this.) our best bet is to feed him cholesterol until he keels over. That, or...

March on Tuesday. Let Congress know that you are ready. No violence necessary, just turn out. Front and center.

    Fuck trump et al.
