Ernst calls for EPA chief to be replaced, says new ethanol rules fall short of target on biofuels

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Joseph Morton

WASHINGTON — Sen. Joni Ernst said Thursday that President Donald Trump should replace Environmental Protection Agency chief Andrew Wheeler if he fails to deliver on promised levels of federally mandated ethanol blending.

The Iowa Republican made her comments Thursday after the EPA released the final version of new ethanol rules that fall short of the regulatory certainty the biofuels industry and its allies have sought.

Ernst said the administration has promised 15 billion gallons of ethanol will be blended into the nation’s fuel supply annually going forward.

“If we’re not seeing that, then yes, the president needs to make a change,” Ernst said. “Then the president needs to find somebody else to work for him at EPA.”

Storage last year banking on the trade war being over. They are literally stockpiling it in the ground because the silos are full. Those short term loans will start coming due this winter and the bankers want their money.

Only upside is I get CRP ground comes back as will the pheasants

because most here would not know what we are talking about. Example for me was a fellow I know finished up Combining about a week ago,had to fill a contract for some where in the 10k bushel amount. 3.83 per before any dockage, after paying the dock(moisture, contaminated grain, light test weight, drying fee if out of moisture limits),he netted 3.58 and that is not including his Trucking fuel.

Right now he is living off his past years sales and that is going pretty darn fast. And he has all his on farm Bins filled with only his forward contracts with his local Ethanol pending. An those are not scheduled till late winter and early spring.

So I always had a soft spot for the guy with a section and a few sows trying to scrape a living.

However, I am now av"fuck em all, they voted for this monster" kind of guy. They loosed this monster in all of us, so time to pay the Piper.

There was a farm crisis Meeting in New Ulm. Topics were, mental health and were to access help and remind folks of the Mental health hot line. Farm and Ranch Bankruptcy and how to handle it if that is the end. Special Crop and land Lending the how a nuts and bolts of obtaining it. This hit home big time. I volunteered back in 81'and 82' during the last Crisis as facility setup person .

Heard it all and seen it all,yet some of those who we helped turned around and followed the same old Piper into this new crisis. Only this time, the dollar numbers are in the millions rather than the thousands. Afraid this time the age group is Grandfathers who we helped in the 80's and their Sons and Grand Sons .

I am empathy for those Farmers who did not vote for this Impeached POS,but are and have been Democratic Party leaders in their Counties for Generations.

not fooled

caught between the opposing interests of your original backers fossil fuel oligarchs 666kook brothers666 who currently control the EPA under red don and are anti-ethanol, and your constituent farmers who grow corn.

I wonder whether she sends the remaining kook brother a photo showing her hand behind her back with fingers crossed every time she sticks up for farmers.

Hahahahaha.

Maybe she is hinting that she wants that job?

I really don't like her.

And they want some more "assistance" to prop up corn prices. $3.80 a bushel new crop with grain silos full from last year's gamble.

The bank notes are coming due! See Joni, tarrifs are kind of bad!
