WASHINGTON (AP) Demonstrators in dozens of cities around the U.S. gathered Saturday to protest the Trump administration's killing of an Iranian general and decision to send thousands of additional soldiers to the Middle East.
More than 70 planned protests were organized by CODEPINK and Act Now to Stop War and End Racism, a U.S.-based anti-war coalition, along with other groups.
From Tampa to Philadelphia and San Francisco to New York, protesters carried signs and chanted anti-war slogans.
President Donald Trump ordered Friday's airstrike near Baghdads international airport that killed Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the head of Irans elite Quds Force who has been blamed for attacks on U.S. troops and American allies going back decades. Iran has vowed retribution, raising fears of an all-out war, but its unclear how or when a response might come.

(11,885 posts)But its backfiring on them , and people are running away even more from trump and the republicans . As more gets exposed what really this was about, it will expose them both even more . trumps desperately trying to spin this with more lies , while others will leak out their real intentions. Especially if its determined his family members were told ahead of time , and had schemes to profit from this strike. trump and is family might be in a financial pinch now too , and desperately trying to keep things afloat with new money making schemes . They no longer have a foundation to steal from , or a trump U. or laundering money now with possible exposure of their past with his taxes getting exposed. trumps actions will only make his numbers drop faster now after doing this.
