Romney camp plans three-day donor retreat around New York debate

Source: Politico

Mitt Romney's campaign has planned a string of activities for donors around the debates, including a three-day "victory retreat' at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in Manhattan overlapping with the Oct. 16 debate at Hofstra University, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by POLITICO.

The schedule of events can be viewed here. But it includes a dinner at the Intrepid Museum on the West Side of Manhattan, a debate watch party at Roseland Ballroom, and panels including a campaign strategy briefing and one on the final three weeks of the race.

The event, first reported by CNN, appears to be patterned on the Utah retreat the campaign held over the summer. There are other, smaller events planned around the other debates, including debate watch parties and invitations to the national finance "victory green room."

8. The Victory Fall Retreat of the House of Romney... by E.A. Poe
Sun Sep 23, 2012, 01:50 AM
Sep 2012
...As Romney predicted, America soon dies. At least we think so. All we know is that Mitt tells the narrator she’s dead, and that she appears to be dead when he looks at her. Of course, because of her catalepsy, she might just look like she’s dead, post-seizure. Keep that in mind. At Mitt ’s request, the narrator helps him to entomb her body in one of the vaults underneath the mansion. While they do so, the narrator discovers that the two of them were twins and that they shared some sort of supernatural, probably extrasensory, bond.

About a week later, on a dark and stormy night, the narrator and Romney find themselves unable to sleep. They decide to pass away the scary night by reading a book. As the narrator reads the text aloud, all the sounds from the fictional story can be heard resounding from below the mansion. It doesn’t take long for Romney to freak out; he jumps up and declares that they buried America alive and that now she is coming back. Sure enough, the doors blow open and there stands a trembling, bloody America. She throws herself at Romney, who falls to the floor and, after "violent" agony, dies along with his sister. The narrator flees; outside he watches the House of Romney crack in two and sink into the dark, dank pool that lies before it.

Pretty cool, huh? And it'll only cost you a $1 million.

By the time this one in the OP rolls around, the potential donors will be in full retreat due to Willard's hilarious performance in the first debate.

Good luck with that, Willard.

11. They can't get votes by any ethical means. They have to buy, bribe, lie, cheat and steal their way

They must be getting scared, because they are doing it right out in the open now. Pathetic bunch of bastards, aren't they? Not this time, scum.

12. When he dies, Romney will ask to be buried with his money

It's his answer for everything.

Listen to the May fundraiser tape. A woman asks him what she should tell Latinos, women and younger people who say they won't vote for him, he said the best thing she could do is raise money. Not joking.

Issues? Platform? Nah, Mitt's just on a really awesome 9-month-long road-tour to raise money and schmooze with the other upper-crusters.
