A smiling President Donald Trump thanked some of the biggest U.S. companies for about 10 minutes on Wednesday at the White House, where he was celebrating his trade deal with China. When it came to JPMorgan Chase & Co., he asked for reciprocation.
They just announced earnings and they were incredible, he said as he greeted Mary Erdoes, who heads asset and wealth management for the biggest U.S. bank. They were very substantial. Will you say, Thank you, Mr. President, at least, huh? JPMorgan on Tuesday posted the most profitable year for any U.S. bank in history.
I made a lot of bankers look very good. But youre doing a great job. He told her to say hello to the firms billionaire chief executive officer, Jamie Dimon. I think were seeing him tomorrow.

Trumps ego rules his vile behavior.

(5,542 posts)This is one of those times when his desperate need for attention and praise actually intersects with reality.
They should thank him. Those tax cuts are really paying off for the bankers of the world.

(51,724 posts)But JP Morgan actually did benefit from Trump/GOP tax cuts for the rich. They are among the .0001% of Americans. That do owe Trump a thank you, assuming they only care about money. However, JP Morgan and all of us live on a much more dangerous and hotter planet since Trump took office. You thank Trump for that too.

(12,595 posts)This is just a two minute clip. The actual full video is 23 minutes. It starts with Trump blaming the Democrats for the delay in confirmations, even though the Republicans control the Senate, and then tells each cabinet member to introduce themselves and describe what they do. Mike Pence starts the love fest and it goes down from there.
I would post the link to the long version, but I don't think there's enough barf bags in the world to handle the consequences.
To his credit, the intelligence chief does not join into stroking IQ45's ego, focusing instead on how the people Trump has inherited (implied: from Obama) will continue to provide excellent information on the threats to our nation. I would imagine he changed his focus two years later and shifted to the greatest threat to the world as a whole -- Trump himself.
