U.S. says 34 troops diagnosed with traumatic brain injury after Iran strike

Source: Reuters via MSN

WASHINGTON, Jan 24 (Reuters) - The Pentagon said on Friday that 34 service members had been diagnosed with traumatic brain injury following strikes by Iran on a base in Iraq earlier this month.

Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman told reporters that eight service members who had been previously transported to Germany had been moved to the United States.

I seem to recall the president getting in front of Cameras this week and insisting a 'few headaches' and nothing serious.

I hope the Military is clearly seeing how disposable and meaningless they are to him.

is this basically percussive from the explosions, physical from shrapnel, and does it include PTSD, do the cases vary, or can't they tell us for various reasons

But Trump regularly boasts of his support for the troops.

And the GOP claims to be the Party of national security.

I don't understand how or why it works, but it does seem to work for them.

Hopefully less so these days.

WASHINGTON — President Trump on Wednesday dismissed concussion symptoms reported by several American troops after Iranian airstrikes on Al Asad Air Base in Iraq as “not very serious,” even as the Pentagon acknowledged that a number of service members were being examined for possible traumatic brain injury caused by the attack.

“I heard they had headaches,” Mr. Trump said at a news conference in Davos, Switzerland. “No, I don’t consider them very serious injuries, relative to other injuries that I’ve seen.”

a TBI is serious!!! yes, a lose of leg or arm is tragic, but just as tragic is the loss of brain function... I am more than livid by trump's remarks... my son was in an accident last year and suffered a TBI... anyone who has suffered it or has a loved one suffering from a TBI, they know

may trump pay dearly for his callousness, his ignorance, his lack of empathy, his vileness... I fucking hate him with a passion I didn't know existed

The Romneys considered that riding on their daddy's campaign bus was the equivalent of military service.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/romney-sons-serve-country-by-campaigning/

Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney on Wednesday defended his five sons' decision not to enlist in the military, saying they're showing their support for the country by "helping me get elected."

... the shock wave bounces back after it hits a wall or the side of the tank or troop carrier which then
hits the brain a 2nd time. National Geographic did a good article on this a few years ago. In many
cases the victims never really recover and have a life of drugs, alcohol, spouse abuse, depression, and
broken families.

God damn Trump and the unneeded crap he started with Iran.
