WASHINGTON (AP) — A flurry of newly released emails from scientists and top officials at the federal agency responsible for weather forecasting clearly illustrates the consternation and outright alarm caused by President Donald Trump’s false claim that Hurricane Dorian could hit Alabama.

A top National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration official even called the president’s behavior “crazy.”

What the scientists and officials found even more troubling was a statement later issued by an unnamed NOAA spokesman that supported Trump’s claim and repudiated the agency’s own forecasters.

The emails, released late Friday in response to Freedom of Information Act requests from The Associated Press and others, give an inside picture of the scramble to respond to the president and the turmoil it caused inside the federal agency.

Reports say he has frequent threatening narcissistic rages especially after his morning Fox News executive time. Because he blows up into rages so loudly in WH and on twitter and probably in threatening phone calls, admin officials think they must obey him no matter how much his demands diverge from reality. Seems that John Miller, Bolton, McGahn and others of his previous handlers have ignored or try to talk him out of his unhinged demands and ultimately are fired while others such as Mulvaney and Pompeo just go along to get along with him and survive in their jobs.

His malignant narcissism is enabled by those who cave and don't stand up for reason and fueled by Giuliani and the other right wing conspiracy theory nuts.

Altering weather maps and intentionally putting out false info about a hurricane is illegal and extremely dangerous.

Unfortunately, rule of law doesn't matter when it comes to the presidency. In fact, with Trump in office, the more idiotic and blatant the crime, the more people dismiss it. It became pretty clear during Russia investigation, and his campaign.

He asked a hostile foreign power to hack his opponent's emails on national T.V. His own Chief of Staff confirmed Trump's Ukraine crimes during a press conference, and Trump openly obstructed justice and Congress in full view of the entire world. It's insanity.

Edit: I should add that only a Republican can get away with this level of criminality. It's a big disadvantage of our two party system, and Constitution. If one party decides to turn into a Fascist criminal organization, they can destroy everything. It still hapens in multiparty systems, but they have a few more roadblocks to get there.
