Trump bemoans 'losing' to Greta Thunberg as Time magazine's 'Person of the Year'
Source: The Hill
President Trump derided 17-year-old Greta Thunberg while speaking today (2/29) at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), mentioning his disappointment that Thunberg, a Swedish climate activist, was named Time magazine's "Person of the Year" in 2019.
Trump had previously won the designation in 2016, as several newly elected presidents have in the past.
"This year I lost to Greta," Trump said to a booing crowd. "I said, 'Who?'"
Though Trump brought up Thunberg during his speech at CPAC, he noted that he wouldn't dwell on the subject (again).
Im not going to get involved with that because last time I got into a little trouble, Trump said at CPAC. That doesnt matter. I won it -- "Person of the Year" -- enough.

Trump previously mocked Thunberg on Twitter, after which he faced backlash from several Democrats, including 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).
Trump also attacked Thunberg at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, last month.
I dont really know anything about her, Trump said of Thunberg.

Since they're as dumb as he is, they probably didn't think of it.

(9,426 posts)surrounded by competent adults in all top positions. The ONLY way we can have that, is to vote DEMOCRATIC. The republicans have shown time and again that they are incapable of running the country, without running up high deficits, and cutting services. Why did they think a failed reality "star" bogus millionaire could handle the job? As long as their wealthy donors get tax breaks, nothing else matters. tRump is now the bright orange face of the gop. A clown in lifts, with bouffant hair.

(38,574 posts)He's at CPAC, in a room full of (presumably) donors who spent money to see him.
The stock portfolios of these donors just took a nose-dive. Unless people and businesses can be reassured that everything possible is being done to confront the threat of corvid-19, the market isn't going to come back any time soon.
These donors HAVE to be concerned about that.
And he stands up and, once again, pulls this "me, me, me, me, me, me.... " crap.
How is it that the people in that room don't recognize that there's nothing in his platform, policies, actions, words, etc. in it for THEM?
Everything is ALL about HIM!
Why would even THIS crowd give one iota about whether or not he was Time's "Person of the Year?"
And yet they turn around and give him their money?
