Officials have announced three presumptive positive COVID-19 cases in New Mexico, the first confirmed cases in the state.
Two of the cases are a husband and wife in Socorro County, both in their 60s, who had recently traveled to Egypt. The third case is a Bernalillo County woman in her 70s who had recently traveled to the New York City area. The three individuals are at their homes in isolation.
Officials with the New Mexico Health Department said the people were tested late Tuesday, and the results were back Wednesday morning. Health officials are investigating the cases and getting in contact with anyone the patients may have come in contact with.
Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has declared this a public health emergency for New Mexico, enabling additional resources for the state.

Gov. Lujan Grisham is urging New Mexicans who believe they have coronavirus to call the New Mexico Department of Health hotline (855-600-3453) or their doctor.
She advises you not physically go visit your doctor because that puts others at risk.
According to the NMDOH, 90 people have been tested for coronavirus.
