Coronavirus: DeWine to shut restaurants, bars; Ohio school closures could be extended; 37 cases conf
Source: Columbus Dispatch
Gov. Mike DeWine said the state health director will order all bars and restaurants to close at 9 p.m. tonight in Ohio.
DeWine said he came to the decision after hearing from people around the state on Saturday night who were concerned about crowded bars. He said he was concerned with St. Patricks Day coming up Tuesday that people would ignore warnings and go out to bars.
The governor encouraged restaurants to offer carry out or delivery service, but said they would not be allowed to have people congregating in them.

One of our local burger chains has gone to drive thru ordering, only. Kroger is hiring to ramp up both shelf stocking and delivery service.

(26,290 posts)I was at Kroger on Friday. Most shelves were well stocked, except for fresh pork and beef and, of course, toilet paper.
Aldi's is limiting purchases of critical items like eggs, milk, bread and toilet paper.

(8,020 posts)unknowingly contaminating the food. I know these closings are more about crowds but with so many people spreading it without symptoms its just too great a risk right now.

(26,290 posts)I'm not much of one for dining out. I'm a really good cook and eating at home saves money. However, I'm worried about the restaurant workers. I think it should be mandatory that they are tested (once the tests are available) and I have no doubt restaurants will do their utmost to make sure everything they send out is safe.

(791 posts)this is very likely the right thing to do but will also obviously wreak havoc. I have no idea how working parents will weather this. Hard times.

I do feel for those who can drink responsibly that will miss their social connections. We're in for a long, miserable boring slog.
I quit the stuff 30-years ago but remember some of the crazy.......

(14,494 posts)Got to work a couple of gigs for his band in Texas many years ago, traveling with a big sound company I did the technical engineering for. That was one hell of a hoot! One was in a huge ballroom, watching those long-legged Texas gals in tight fitting jeans and cowboy hats dancing the two-step to Willy.
This here is one lucky luthier:

Can't imagine having the right to sit and pick Willy's Trigger for an hour or so after the work is done....
