Magnitude 6.3 earthquake strikes near Mexico's Baja Peninsula

(Reuters) - A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck near Mexico's Baja Peninsula on Tuesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake's epicenter was located 38 miles north of La Paz, Mexico, and was offshore.

Let's hope our sailing friends cruising mid Baja peninsula are seeking safer ports, what with that hurricane bearing down on them. I have friends that like to spend this time of the year in Turtle bay, but I'm confident they're pull their hook and headed it south a little early.
