I wasn't a fan of Babylon 5, but I did see some episodes.

i never watched B5 and I forget why - bad scheduling or something...considering how much I love sci-fi it sometimes surprises me that I never watched it. I'll have to start looking on netflix or blu-ray

(8,317 posts)If you're a fan, you know who the first was, and he died all too young.
60 is pretty young. A baby, as my 95 year old grandmother would say.

It's like that show was cursed or something, gah. One every couple years for the past while.

(1,712 posts)I can't think of another show where so many actors have met untimely ends. Huge bummer.

We had to cut off his IV food and water since his brain was too damaged.

(5,376 posts)Tough decisions you had to make there. It fell on me to make the call for two family members, and although it had to be done, it took a long while to deal with the emotional aftermath. I wish you well!

(5,927 posts)I didn't get off on Bab5 until sometime in the second season, whereupon I became horribly addicted. A wonderful story arc, characters I could feel, outstanding Lightwave 3D CG work by Foundation Imaging, great music by Christopher Franke. O'Hare was underappreciated. Without him Bab5 wouldn't have worked. RIP, Commander Sinclair. You will be missed.

NOOOOOO. Dam.. I think I have to re-look the B5 now:/.. how sad.. It was a great show when it was brand new - I saw all the series of B5 on TV.. That and Star Trek..

(29,414 posts)I remember Sinclair always listening to T.S. Elliot in his evenings away from the command center. I don't know much about Elliot, but little stuff like that just deepened his character. O'Hare made Sinclair a living person, and not just a character written for an actor.

True, Even though I have to admit, it is a long time since I have seen B5.. I guess It is like coming back to a old friend, you care for the different figures, even though you know how it will end... But then again B5 was indeed a trail-blazer when it was new - today it is maybe little dated, but it is still a great show.

even though B5 was, essentially, a soap opera on a cosmic scale, hopefully he realized that he was part of one of the most incredible science fiction epics ever made. if you don't believe it, watch it, starting with the two prequel movies, and go through to the end. it had some fluff and filler, but everything, even after years, neatly dovetailed into the full story.
you met "god". you saw the end of planet earth. it touched on practically every relevant topic.
the scope of the story arc was absolutely awe inspiring.
