White House: 'The science should not stand in the way' of reopening schools

Moments ago, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany defended Trump’s push to reopen schools, despite concerns about the spread of coronavirus in the classroom.

“And when he says open, he means open and full, kids being able to attend each and every day at their school,” McEnany noted furing her White House briefing.

“The science should not stand in the way of this,” McEnany said, adding moments later, “The science is on our side here.”

So essentially they are saying, protecting people's lives should not stand in the way of reopening schools.

for political considerations, we aren't going to let science stand in our way. Reason must only be used to prove the unprovable, such as the inner truths of Christianity.

is one stupid person. Science wins, you lose. Come spend some quality time in my high school as we as parents, teachers, and families watch our nation burn to the ground by this virus. Good luck getting middle school kids and high school kids with their raging hormones to stay 6ft apart. It's all we can do to get the kids to show up to class on time....who cares about tardies. Keep the kids home where most will be safer. Most High School teachers I work with and know want nothing to do with anything but virtual learning.

it is not just a "raging hormone" problem - kids want to be out - with friends - free to go and grow (yeah, have fun!).
But, another point: just try to keep 25 6-year olds to keep their hands to themselves and masks on! These are the ones that think paste tastes great and Suzie has the green crayon that you want - tell me how you're gonna' keep them from touching their face even if they do keep their masks on for more than 30 seconds!
Oh, and "bathroom" breaks - keeping that same herd of 25 in line (yeah, social distancing at 6 feet) while they wait their turn to go to the "water park" of the primary building ("did you wash your hands?" - "OK, I'll help you with your zipper" - "No, you do not need to go back again to 'finish." - "What do you mean "there was no toilet paper but it doesn't matter?"

THEY HAVE NO CLUE!!!!!!!

Results should not stand in the way of re-electing Trump.

We are being manipulated, played, gaslighted, and bamboozled.

10. To be fair(?) to Kayleigh McEnany, this was a botched attempt at gaslighting.

She was trying to say, "The science backs us up on this." It was a horrendous choice of words that contained an obvious truth.

Trump hires only the best people.

16. McEnemy, science never stands in the way of anything except ignorance. Science LEADS the way.

Ignorance demands to remain in the dark, head buried in the sand, just like this administration continually pushes for LESS testing because they want to REMAIN IGNORANT.
