Video shows Arizona man carried out of store by son trying to stop anti-mask rant

Source: The Hill

BY ARIS FOLLEY - 08/12/20 08:56 PM EDT

An Arizona man was seen being carried out of a store apparently by his son as he went on a rant against mask-wearing in footage that has racked up millions of views on social media.

The footage, which was posted to Twitter on Monday and has since notched more than 6 million views, shows the man yelling at others in the store and calling them “idiots” for wearing for masks, despite public health guidelines urging people to do so to curb the spread of COVID-19.

“These people won’t learn. You’re a bunch of idiots wearing masks. You know it’s not real,” he yells. “Look at you fools. You got a f---ing doily on your face.”

“You look like an idiot. You’re the child. You’re trying to make me wear a mask,” he continues, appearing to talk to someone off-screen.

just gave them permission to come out of the closet and act out. Trump has taught us that a certain percentage of the American population is racist, ignorant, anti-science, living in fear of various conspiracy theories they believe in - and proud of it.

When society maintains one group at the top of the hierarchical pyramid through the entirety of this nation's history (and before) and that status starts getting chipped away, many in that group eventually reach a breaking point and start lashing out as the playing field finally starts getting leveled. It's very deep and has evolved over multiple generations, and you are seeing the visceral reaction to changes being made to how they now rank in this society.

They are used to doing what they want, when they want, and how they want, with little or no consequences for their seemingly random "bucking of the system" because they ARE "the system" and were always "in charge" and made the rules (as well as changing them on-the-fly as necessary, because they could).

Now they no longer "make the rules" and are facing the consequences for violating "other people's rules", and thus are up in arms about it.

that the world of cell phones means they can't bully their way thru the job any more (thinking of the cop who got in a man's face and tore his mask off, all while the man was recording him)

it's not just the cell phone videos, but they will blatantly continue to violate policies even when their dash cams and/or body cams are recording them (if they actually activated them). And they don't care because the FOPs have their back and will get them off, and/or will make sure that they can be "transferred" to another division or to another town or city, so they can continue violating policies completely unchecked (unless they are a POC officer, and suddenly the "rules" get applied and they end up in jail).

"It's a worldwide conspiracy by the elites!"

Sheesh, they're so pathetic.

Edit: I really believe that, deep down, many of them knew that Trump would screw it up. They jumped on the "hoax" idea too damn soon, just as it was being reported in the USA.

Americans will muddle through and people like this are either going to go back to the trump swamp and suck up swamp water Jan 20, 2021, or all Americans once again will all be fighting for the American democracy against trumps traitors this time instead of Jefferson Davises'.

Very dangerous times we live in. Trump, Ivanka and Jared are not going to relinquish the WH or power easily.

There was a Trump-cultist, at my previous job (which I later left), who coughed in my face! That was in early-March when there were few reported cases in the USA.

He knew that I didn't like Trump and that I had expressed deep concern about Covid-19 to some employees in the break-room.

He apologized and tried to play it off as "just a joke" when I got furious about it. (Such disrespectful behavior even without a contagion!)

Anyway, all of the Trump-cultists at that place were calling it a "hoax" even back then! Strikes me as especially weird now, looking back on it. They were probably just repeating whatever they heard on Fox News, but it also seems like it was an effort to "get ahead of the pending disaster" and create an excuse for Trump terribly mishandling it... just deny the reality of it!

very sick people, psychologically, even though they may appear "normal". I think they are the true vectors keeping this virus spreading at the alarming 'wildfire' rate that is happening. I can't wait for the numbers to start coming out on the Sturgis motorcycle worship with a quarter-million maskless trumpers . Especially with all the asymptomatic carriers starting to be recognized as spreaders.

"Cultists". So very true.

So this is all about your insecure masculinity?
And you don't realize how obvious you're making it?
Tell me again, who's the fool?
We don't really have to go through all the pictures of mask-wearing firefighters, soldiers and doctors throughout the decades again, do we? Fuuuuuuuck, we do, don't we.
