Post-ABC poll shows Biden, Harris hold double-digit lead over Trump, Pence

As the two major political parties prepare to open their national conventions, the race for the White House tilts toward the Democrats, with former vice president Joe Biden holding a double-digit lead nationally over President Trump amid continuing disapproval of the president’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, according to a Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Democrats kick off their convention on Monday in a mood of cautious optimism, with Biden and his running mate, Sen. Kamala D. Harris (D-Calif.), leading Trump and Vice President Pence by 53 percent to 41 percent among registered voters. The findings are identical among a larger sample of all voting-age adults.

Biden’s current national margin over Trump among voters is slightly smaller than the 15-point margin in a poll taken last month and slightly larger than a survey in May when he led by 10 points. In late March, as the pandemic was taking hold in the United States, Biden and Trump were separated by just two points, with the former vice president holding a statistically insignificant advantage.

we could count on these polls. My fear is unless our numbers are huge, trump/repubs cheating will allow him to win. Talk about being nervous. I really do fear that they will just cheat.

Convince people to vote like their lives depend on it. Because they do.

If the gop manages to squash votes in solid dem districs in la and San Francisco, we might not even be able to carry california. We need every vote in the podunks of every state, not just city voters.

We can't count on every vote being counted. We have to turn people out like we are 3 points down.

That is part of what cost us the election in 2016. People thought it was given we would win, so they cast protest votes. There were thousands of ballots in MI that voted straight line dem but didn't cast a vote for potus. That hurt us.

Don't let people get complacent. Don't let them think it is in the bag and trump will f' up his plans.

Bill Palmer is an idiot. Don't be a Bill Palmer. Trump is getting away with this. Not because he is some evil genious, but because there are thousands of gop operatives operating outside of the law using him for cover.

Our voting power is centered in urban areas. Sure, we have support elsewhere but the vast numbers are in the cities in any given state. Cut off the cities, and you tilt the playing field far to the right.
